Just got through all of the closing ceremony vids, and the US delegation couldn't be more prouder than ever with our 14th place finish. Thank you to everyone who voted for us.
Also, the US delegation will *leave* Slovakia with heavy hearts as we got late word that our very first representative, Christina Grimmie, was shot dead not far from where I live (double bummer)

Terrible. Loved her on The Voice.

In the end, I think the local factor helped Mexico overcome an amazing Chilean side... I'm impressed, I think Chile is growing a lot while Mexico is going once again down, unless they do some serious work from youth level.
Congrats for the win!

Amazing moment in the torch relay. This happened in a city of Pernambuco state in which I have lived for years - unfortunately I couldn't see the relay
They're singing "A Vida do Viajante" by Luiz Gonzaga, a classic song that represents Brazil and its people. This song was picked as the theme song for the Olympic Torch Relay (a new version of the song was used when the torch was unveiled last year, and the official version for the relay can be found here).

Well, Chile won a set against Brazil A team last year and I have seen both Chile and Tunisia play vs Argentina recently and to me Chile was stronger. They have two good attacking players (Gevert and Bonacic) that neither Tunisia or Mexico seem have. Still, Mexico is favorite at home.
Based on what I saw in yesterday's matches, I think Chile will win today - but, of course, Mexico counts with the crowd, and this can help them to achieve a victory.

May be they underestimated Chile I was also waiting for them to win but I was shocked to see them lose. Even with the victory the chances are low to qualify .
It could happen in case of 3 conditions are met:
- First hope for 3-1 or 3-2 in the v !
- Beat at home which won't be easy at all !
- Wait for a gift from v which is really complicatedTunisia's best chance is probably hope for a Mexico win today, and beat them tomorrow 3-0. Chile won't lose to Algeria, I think.

As expected, Pedro Gonlçaves will represent Brazil in the K1 event. Previously, the confederation had also confirmed Charles Corrêa and Anderson Oliveira for the C2 event. No word yet on C1, where three athletes are/were contending for the spot.
