Sure. but again if you look at the matter in terms of the size of the country. The USA is much larger, while Slovakia has a length of some cca 500 kilometers and you can cross the whole country basically in about 7 hours by car from west to east and 3-4 hours from north to south, smaller area means also that it is quite easier to get infected than in extremely larger area like the US.

Slovakia apparently has started negotiations with the Czech Republic and Austria on the creation of a kind of mini-Schengen between the three countries. Looks like the other 2 coutries agree. will we have a mini europe in europe with closed external borders and open internal borders, from this June ? not sure Brussels will agree with such form of rebellion.

If you have time from 22:00 tonight in RTVS 3, they broadcast the 1994 Lillehammer decisive Olympic qualifier in Sheffield - with two of the Šťastný brothers Peter and Anton played for the first time under independant Slovakia. That was a really emotional tournament for us, as you know in 1993 after the split-up of Czechoslovakia IIHF decided that CZE will be the successor and SVK will be send to the pool D !!! Our authorities fought hard to correct this injustice...we somehow succeeded to be put one level higher in Pool C and our team to be allowed as special participant to be added to the Olympic qualifier in Sheffield. both tournaments as you know we won and started to write our name into the elite world ice hockey map

According to many experts and fans, the best and most talented player in Slovak history, Peter Dubovský, would be 48 years old today. The Friday 23rd June 2000 the entire football world remained in shock. Tragic news came from Thailand. Peter Dubovský died. Hard to believe, because he was only 28 years old. However, it did not take long and these rumors were confirmed. The Slovak offensive midfielder succumbed as a result of injuries he suffered when falling from a cliff over twenty meters on the island of Koh Samui...
