  1. Ahh! The first war dance of the night comes from
  2. Pretty tame parade of nations compared to Napoli 2019. There are zero Maradona jerseys in sight, but there are some vibrant colors.
  3. Yeah Olympic Channel’s been having a bit of a rough time lately. I posted a link earlier in the thread to the main live feed on the website. I believe that you should be able to watch there.
  4. According to ITG, Samoa has been hit with monsoon rainstorms for the past 2 hours or so. This could have an effect on the opening ceremony. Hopefully stuff dries out because we are just over an hour out. Is there going to be anyone else watching today?
  5. Yep. It will streamed starting on Day 2 (Monday in the US, though it still appears as a Tuesday stream on the Olympic Channel). The streams on the Olympic Channel start around 3:30 PCT and go for about 8 hours each day. If you have access to VPN then I think you’ll be able to watch directly on the games website. I’ll @ you with more info tomorrow.
  6. Link to the opening ceremony live feed on the website: https://www.samoa2019.ws/news/opening-ceremony/ Begins in a few hours
  7. Well Parkour Australia is part of Parkour Earth, the real, but yet unrecognized, international federation for Parkour, so there would already be complications. I could see Rhythmic Gymnastics on the program one day, or maybe Aerobic. I think it will be a long time before anyone ever suggests putting gymnastics in the Pacific Games though.
  8. The schedule of live-streams is now available too . I will post a timetable for those interested
  9. I sent them an email about it, and the event instantly appeared in the events section. I still can’t see any upcoming streams, but the opening ceremony is today in Samoa at 18:30 local time.
  10. So as I said before it’s been a weird week for me, and I’ve found myself getting really excited for the 2019 Pacific Games. Well looking around I saw that the 2023 games had been awarded to the Solomon Islands (bad choice, especially over Tahiti in my opinion), and I’ve noticed a few funny things in their bid documents. First off the first 10-15 pages are all official messages from politicians ; and then we get to the sports program. The Solomon Islands plan to host Football, Futsal, and Beach Soccer I’m the same games . They also plan to have a huge sports program. I feel like this is going to kill the country (75% of citizens are subsistence farmers).
  11. Well that was the deal, but they’re not advertising on there yet, and the games start in half a day...
  12. Yep, California has done a great job getting prepared for earthquakes . In fact I’ve been watching the Universiade every time one has hit oddly enough. Yesterday’s wasn’t fun like the day before though. Yesterday’s was a bit more scary (and did more damage near the epicenter)
  13. So based off what I can tell, the opening ceremony will be broadcast (today for me, tomorrow for some of you), as well as the sports of Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Football, Judo, Netball, Powerlifting, Rugby Sevens, Rugby League 9s, Swimming, Table Tennis, Volleyball, and Weightlifting. I’d say there’s a good chance that Basketball, Taekwondo, Touch Rugby, and Va’a get broadcast as well. The website has links to the broadcast, but they are restricted in the US (and Europe and Asia I believe), but with a vpn set to Australia I think I can watch the games on there. I’ll update with more information when I find any. We are just over 13 hours from the opening ceremony.
  14. Oddly enough I have found myself watching the women’s skateboard Vert final. It’s been a weird week for me . There are some really good young skaters.
  15. Totallympics Audio Service will no be providing any more daily shows for the duration of the games.
  16. Another good aftershock. This is getting insane!
  17. Just got hit with a good aftershock. It’s going to be hell tonight. No one will be sleeping tonight.
  18. It has now been upgraded to a 7.1. We should see several 6.0-5.0 aftershocks in the next 2-5 days.
  19. Rumor has it the Ridgecrest has multiple fires, street damage, water line breaks, medical emergencies, etc. Helicopters have been flying over non-stop. Hopefully it’s all just false alarms.
  20. It’s been down graded to a 6.9 (the foreshock was 5.0). Our Pool had water swinging out of it, the public lights were shaking, doors were rattling, there was a horribly loud rumbling noise, it’s all a little much right now. People were, and are, thankfully well prepared for this. It was great to see neighbors checking in on each other immediately. I haven’t heard reports of damage, but I think there will be some... That one wasn’t fun like the other day ones. It’s going to be hard to sleep tonight.
  21. One Huge, Huge earthquake just hit after a big aftershock.
  22. Well, It looks like today’s podcast will be delayed. Why? You ask. Becuase the results website is completely down and so broken that I (and Vojthas) cannot find the results we need. I will release yesterday’s soon (when I’m done throwing a child’s tantrum). I’m sorry y’all.
  23. Yeah that’s what a lot of American and British journalists were saying about the opening ceremony. Nothing says Italy like talking about peace and tolerance and then letting a questionably racist person hold your torch in the stadium. Though I get the feeling, and I could be wrong, that Naples has a pretty left leaning, but maybe I’m wrong?
