  1. Well now you’ve peaked my curiosity. If you don’t mind me asking; How did it work? and what was the experience like? I don’t get to talk to many non-Latin American immigrants often so I’m curious. Upon sawing that I’ve made good acquaintances with a Kuwaiti in my US Political Science class. He has a very interesting story.
  2. Immigration mainly comes from Ukraine. Ukraine has a huge ethnic Jewish population. Israel is openly encouraging French, Ukrainian, and few other countries I forget immigration. I was watching a 4-5 Part Vice News report on it. They were with this Ukrainian family, none of which were practicing Jews, who had recently found out that they were like 5-10% Jewish. Israel was practically begging them to come over, so they did. Serges Richer is also the only man to have ever won a European Games gold medal in the 10m Air Rifle event. Plus, he’ll be present in Tokyo, so who knows?
  3. I’m still honestly sad that you guys couldn’t sneak a short track medal in Pyeongchang. I really hope they work to build up a program. I know the guy is originally from Ukraine, but hopefully he stays and helps coach and find resources for younger athletes. Israel is advocating for European immigration like crazy right now, so it’s plausible we start seeing a few more “oddities”.
  4. I found a leaked video of NBC testing out the new ISSF dress guidelines
  5. Any updates @uk12points? There’s been a few events recently, including the Parapan’s
  6. Athletics has a lot of “skippers” too. NBC has been giving more air time to the Paralympics recently (All Events were broadcast in full during Pyeongchang). Plus, we recently combined our Olympic Committee and Paralympic Committee into one organization for better or worse. With all that, I think the profile of Para-Sport will rise in the US hopefully. I think it’s a great idea, and I’m a big advocate for inclusion and para-sport.
  7. I like to surf Apple Music’s Top 100 lists every once in a while because they make a list for every country, and I mean every country. This week it seems like the entire world has fallen in love with: Except for a few odd outliers, like Scandinavia and the Baltic States (which no offense are practically part of Scandinavia nowadays), which like this song: But my favorite outlier so far has been Poland. I don’t what to say about this one. We’d call it a “bop” or “boof” or “smack” in the US. I have no clue what the lyrics are, so maybe @Vojthas or @Monzanator could help me understand what the hell this song is:
  8. Well Kurash uses Green and Blue, and Pencak Silat uses Balck so problem solved
  9. I think something got lost in translation. I meant that over time sentiment against Muslims will decline. I will take quite a while based on current European attitudes obviously, but I think it will happen. To get back to the neighbor argument, I could care less who I live next too as long as their a) respectful of me and others in the neighborhood b) tolerate others c) don’t steal my stuff, break in my house, etc. d) don’t commit a murder (though I’d be okay with a reformed criminal) e) try not to a-hope when possible. I don’t expect a lot from people because I know how hard I am to put up with. It isn’t that hard to get along with people who are “different” then you. If I pass someone walking, I say “good morning, hello, etc.). If someone needs help, you help them. If someone’s lost around town, you help them figure out where they need to go. If someone’s doing something illegal you can either report it or ask them to stop (if they don’t there’s plenty ways to deal with it without losing your mind). If someone speaks a different language but needs help, I use an app that translates to help them. In general I make it a point to be the most positive member of the community I can be. I make very little noise, none between 22:00 - 6:00. I apologize if I trespass or get in someone’s way. It’s not hard to be a decent person. I can have a Muslim family to my right, and Jewish one to my left, and African one across the street, or even a family just moved from the inner-city across the way from me; and would still treat them like I’d treat anyone else. People are so difficult sometimes.
  10. Honestly how the Olympics should be...Get rid of the crazy IOC demands and give us Underwater Hockey
  11. Would make perfect sense for them to host in 2023. @bestmen start campaigning . In all seriousness, I think could pull it off. I also wouldn’t count out a country like , , or
  12. Does even have a women’s national team? I’ve never seen any news or results from them.
  13. Reason #1,000,001 not to live in Florida. Sorry @dezbee2008
  14. Also worth noting that the world as a whole has seen super nationalistic feels the past 4-5 years. It’s a trend, so it will break and I think we will see numbers improve, especially around Muslims in Europe. This does say some positive things about the Slovakian education system, which from what I’ve read/seen is pretty good.
  15. Yeah my neighbors just smoke pot, so the worst thing happening to me is getting second hand high . They do have a noisy ass dog though. I still try to be as friendly as I can to them. When I roller skate to university I wave to everyone on my way to a) be a decent person b) show them someone notices them c) raise me profile in the community d) let drivers know I’m on the edge of the street so they don’t kill me.
  16. Well some of those figures are very good, but to be completely honest I really don’t care who lives next to me
  17. Well Chile have sent a good delegation, and how shown improvements in Paralympic sport from what I’ve seen. Cuba sent a rather small delegation compared to the rest of the the top 10, so that might help explain what’s happening. Canada just loves silver medals
  18. Huge news if this is true. Not sure if it’s been confirmed yet:
  19. Very happy to see and make an appearance on the medal table. Both had to beat some good competition to get there too. Greece and Italy are just destroying everyone else. I expected France to be doing better.
  20. I’m a big fan of the inclusion of shooting. The events were genuinely fun to watch (just like Olympic shooting).
  21. I honestly didn’t think anyone would be ahead of the USA in the medal count so good for Brazil. I have noticed that a few of our top Paralympic talents have skipped games, just like our top athletes during the Pan Ams. At least we’re consistent to our formula
  22. Yeah I tried watching the Athletics yesterday, and I’ve never seen a multi-sports games stadium more empty. It was worse than the football stadiums during preliminary matches at Lima 2019.
  23. Welcome to the party @Styrka and @Kaileena! It’s nice to get two new users in the same day. Enjoy the forum!
