  1. That's what I was thinking too. The vowel swapping seems similar at least.
  2. Talk about an entertaining race! Great battle for the medals, and an exciting finish
  3. It was great to see him finish, and with a wheelie for the crowd no less!
  4. Just caught up on this one... They may have to change the French word for canoe to "Gestin" after today. What a performance through all three rounds!
  5. Women’s 200m Freestyle was fun, but the earthquake that followed it (in California) felt a little necessary 😅 In case that’s not clear. We had an earthquake right after the final ended.
  6. Wow, what a race that was!
  7. No medal for Richard Tury, but don't let that bring you down @hckošice He did such a great job today. It was just an insane final.
  8. Ridiculous accuracy from
  9. winning their first fencing medal was quite something. 1-2 was equally surprising. with a nice historic medal too. Fencing has certainly not lacked for drama over the first two days!
  10. I was able to catch both the semifinals and finals today
  11. Something to add to the parade of nations discourse. I’d be inclined to agree with him on this.
  12. That sir, is a city in (and a very important city in ancient Phoenicia) I believe you mean "tire."
  13. I believe she and her sister have been training at the UCI WCC for the last few months. Great ride for her today.
  14. I had a really good time watching rugby sevens when I had the chance to over the last few days. Great win for Also, shoutout to for making that bronze medal match interesting until the end.
  15. I think the Parade of Nations is the biggest challenge to pulling off a successful OC. You need to find the balance between showing the athletes, and keeping the pacing tidy. Personally, I think having the artistic elements interspersed with the parade of nations is the right way to go.
  16. Still gets near daily plays during the summer months from me.
  17. I think Rio 2016 did that the best, while capturing contemporary social/poltical divides very well too. It's a ceremony often overlooked, but it remains my other favorite with Athens 2004. I do think London 2012 and Paris 2024 did a fantastic job of producing uniquely English/French ceremonies though, even if they took different angles.
  18. My personal favorite segments from the ceremony were the Le Mis/French Revolution tribute (the entire sgement), the love/literature segment, and the march to the Trocadero. Celine Dion also did a magnificent job of ending the ceremony on a high note.
  19. Finally, someone mentions one of my favorites
  20. This will almost certainly join my list of ceremonies I watch over and over again. It felt like it had something for everyone.
  21. Well, she performed the hell out of that
  22. Guess the BBC choose the right song for their Olympics promo
  23. This montage is terrific. Video direction has been on point tonight.
  24. Because they are the next hosts of the (Summer) Olympic Games.
