  1. Those might be salvageable if the event is moved to the first quarter (maybe even early second quarter) of 2024.
  2. I found it oddly gripping on the first listen. It’s definitely grown on me too. I’ve seen a lot of people saying the staging should be more grand, but I think the stripped down look works for a song like that. I wouldn’t be completely shocked if it did well in Liverpool, but it might struggle to stand out amongst the crowd.
  3. Actually, 49er gained a boat quota (8 to 9), while 49erFX and Nacra-17 lost two boat quotas (8 to 6) Edit: have qualified in all Olympic classes as well, though neither has confirmed any quotas yet.
  4. NBC’s story on Bruna : https://olympics.nbcsports.com/2023/02/23/bruna-moura-cross-country-skiing-brazil/ The one and only @heywoodu also gets a mention, which means two Totallypians have now been featured by NBC
  5. Full list of qualified athletes in taekwondo: https://www.eurolympic.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Taekwondo_men_and_women.pdf
  6. is back on the men’s side with a potential debut at the world championships (I’d need to check results from the last few to confirm.) all on the start list for the men’s 10km. Too bad the Winter Pan American Games no longer exist
  7. You could also chalk that up to the University Games being a well established, and somewhat notable, competition for biathlon and alpine events, as where that’s not really the case for freestyle events. They already have the X Games, Dew Tour, US Open, etc.
  8. U.S Song Selection It was an exciting year for the American jury. We gained a jury member and held our first ever national selection contest. There were three songs that emerged from the semifinals as contenders, but only that rose above the rest. We hope you enjoy the song as much as our jury members did. Without further ado, we present the U.S entry for the 2023 TISC Annual Song Contest… Judah & the Lion - scream! Lyrics
  9. They could at least (legally) get some high antioxidant wild blueberries if this was in Kontiolahti
  10. In fairness, it would be rather newsworthy if someone won every single event in their gender at any world championship. It’s one thing to be the best on a single day, other thing entirely to be the outright best on multiple days, across multiple distances, and different weather conditions.
  11. Their national champs caused a bit of controversy last year, so he’ll have to place well if he wants the same kind of media attention with a young skier on the start list as well. Nice to see them with another winter sport representative. internal battle might be interesting as well. Their YOG skier and Beijing 2022 representative are both in the field.
  12. Not one to be outdone by his sister, Henry Sildaru tore his ACL during the slopestyle competition at the EYOF (explains why he was a DNF in the final). They’re both out for the season, which is a tough blow for
  13. The process was different for Tokyo, as everyone had national ticket vendors, but there was also a lottery followed by a few different free-for-all tickets sales. I asked for 12 pairs of tickets in the initial lottery, and only got one of those, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t succeed at first. I was ultimately able to get most of the tickets I wanted before Covid axed those plans.
  14. One of those lines you read, and think, “damn, wish I would have wrote that.”
  15. It was real cool to see an athlete I interviewed multiple times last year featured in the NFL’s annual commercial. I can confirm Diana is just as awesome in person (very nice, humble, and a beast on the field).
  16. getting a quota is cool It’d be nice if the region could convert their roller success to the results on the ice.
