  1. Yeah... planning 12 years only for not to get chosen in the end for whatever reasons. The other side of "perfectly-planned" bids.
  2. I would like the "confused" reaction as well, there are most surely much more emotions than just happy and sad. I'm not against "angry" either, there were moments where I would have used it but I can see why there is no "angry" reaction as it may confuse others if they share anger with the context of the post or if they are angry with the poster themselves, stirring up some bad mood in the forum.
  3. As long as there are two women-exclusive sports in the programme, I can't take their gender equality policy serious.
  4. You do know that Suiton is water, right?
  5. Anyway, Swimming will be the main contributor to the USA winning most medals (and Golds) again in 2020.
  6. Interestingly, as a neutral person to this contest I could give you my personal 12-points-pick right away, after a first listen.
  7. "Only a rubber ball is needed for the street sport which is said to bring baseball to previously inaccessible areas. Any playing surface can be utilised and no pitcher is needed as hitting is done by hand." Baseball without a bat. Brilliant. Next will be swimming without water.
  8. I think we Fencing fans can't complain now with all six team events finally held together and honestly, which other sport has that. Imagine a team event for every discipline in Shooting. With 6 events out of 12 being team events, 8 teams per event are fair enough. At least that will make the race to Tokyo interesting in this sport.
  9. There were also a total of 16 events less in Vancouver, so now there are more chances for Canadian medals in Snowboarding and Freestyle Skiing, Figure Skating Team Trophy, Team Luge and Mixed Curling, which might support your sentiments on Vancouver being better overall.
  10. Italy with a para-athlete here?
  11. I would if I was watching, and it might be Belarus' only medal chance this time.
  12. I agree they just wouldn't fit in the Olympic programme. Like suggested above, a Mind Games & Esports Olympics for themselves would be a great idea. However, what annoys me is that some activities, including Chess, Darts or Snooker, are not considered sports by lots of people. Why? Anything can be a sport with enough competitive elements. Even dishwashing. I think your picture of sport as a whole is more athletic, right?
  13. Even if it wasn't for E-sports, you can't expect sport to be traditional for 100 more years to come. At some point, there will be something new.
  14. Bulgaria has chances in Snowboarding and slim ones in Biathlon (Men's Individual). Denmark has chances in Curling and a slim one in Speed Skating (Mass Start, as well as Estonia). Very long stretches... Belgium, Lithuania and Brazil.
  15. Did these people care about sports in general or just the display of their nation in the world, being ranked as high as possible?
  16. I was about to ask who that was because I couldn't find him. The name is Kei Saito.
