Although would one really prefer the Olympic gold over a Grand Slam? (unless you've already got several Grand Slams of course)
I honestly have no idea anymore who are the Tokyo Olympic champions
I would prefer Olympic gold.
you can win this one once in 4 years, you can win GS 4 times in one year
i think here in Poland more people would cherish her winning Olympic singles gold in Paris than winning another GS title
winning Roland Garros GS title this season may be easier for her because the pressure will be less even if you remember that Sabalenka and Russians may not be there at the olympics
-
Sabalenka looking superstrong. She is the main favorite here imo. The good thing for Iga is that such a situation may take some pressure off her.
And still - whatever, who cares - it’s only AO, not Paris Olympics heh
-
That is why I like Wimbledon the most.
the problem is Iga can’t play on grass.
yet 😉 -

Crowd going.....Wild.
Nope. They’re too busy eating their fast food

My early thoughts on 2nd places (almost champions)
1. France
2.Samuelsson
3. Hendricks
4. Morikawa
5. USA
6. Spain
7. China
8. China
9. Gauff
10. ???
11. Sinner
12. Leclerc

I have another idea though. Who will be 2nd in all these events heh? 😉
-
And during Beijing 2022 I had time for it (not that many events to watch during winter games and some free time during daytime CET due to different timezones)
i don’t think I will repeat this for Paris because… well… I will be too busy watching the games, you know
but maybe some other user/users will do sth like that
and still… there’s nothing better than Wumo competitions

Polish Open now: Linette vs Wozniacki 💪
-
So if the US don’t care about Kenin then… what’s the weather forecast for Tuesday daytime in Melbourne ? Three sets in heavy heat , not a good start .
Here is a big hype on Świątek in Polish media . You can read a lot that it would be good to avoid Ostapenko in QF(she has 0-4 record against her or sth). Right, but first she needs to get there. Kenin and Collins/Kerber is not an easy start. And Sabalenka plays today in the evening so she will have more time to rest from the beginning

Really? Samsonova always loses early in slams and lost to Bogdan and Siegemund in the lead-up events without winning a match.
Ok. But Anisimova didn’t look good in the lead-up either coming back to the tour after a long period
good for me that I’m not a gambling man heh
-
And Rublev survives this one.
No NO TO WAR signing this time though. -

Amanda Anisimova takes down #13 Liudmila Samsonova who is the first women's seed to go out.
I must admit i am surprised with this result . I haven’t seen it coming at all

Iga Świątek plays first match on Rod Laver Arena on Tuesday. 2 a.m. CET. Brilliant
Either it is a good time for American audience to watch Kenin and that is why they chose such a schedule
or it is another proof that ITF/WTA is just not happy that some random girl from Poland is no.1 and they don’t think she can generate good viewing stats even when she plays against such a strong opponent
-
And there will be 5 sets in Rublev vs Seyboth Wild match

Any fresh news on Kilde in the morning?
-
Matteo Berrettini withdrew. Tsitsipas will play vs LL now - Zizou Bergs BEL
-
-
Sejersted nicely 4th. Now all NOR coaches and staff will focus on him
-
I think They have used tourniquet while taking care of Kilde so it really doesn’t look good
Theaux - a wise man. At 39 y.o. he skipped the Friday super G and today he had quite a good run…
-
At least I may be able to watch Linette vs Wozniacki live on Sunday morning. I couldn’t do that on Monday…
but ofc you are right , it should be 14 days event

First time in forever that my eternal hope for Clarey is definitely not going to work out anymore
Paris would be awesome, or a good old Winnerhofer, but yeah, unlikely
Yeah, Paris 💪 He is my mother’s favourite skier. She is watching all his races sitting on the edge of her seat 😉 looks like he will be 3rd today

I have nothing against Dokic, I would even say I like her and I was fan of her when she played. But we met her once here in Poland in Katowice when she was playing a small WTA tournament and we bumped on her in Pizza Hut of all the places and what can I say - it looked like she really liked fast food and social media. But back then she looked really sporty. I remember next season she played great at AO (she reached semis if I remember correctly) and I thought she will bounce back for good and have some more good results but it turned out other way. Anyway, a very nice person, we had a nice short chat at this pizza hut
