  1. Calling CNN 'fake news media' because they mentioned there were rumours (it's not a normal thing for Kim Jong-un to not show his face for the opening of this thing or the celebration of some other random thing), lol. People tend to forget that CNN's main North Korea reporter literally said his sources had heard nothing worrying about Kim and the rumours about him being in trouble should be taken with a big grain of salt. Even funnier when calling CNN fake news....compared with the state media of a semi-dictatorship
  2. I'm not running with my phone, which I think is necessary? Besides, I have an online ekiden (marathon relay) on a Dutch forum, where we have seven teams of six people. The marathon distance is split up in six stages: 5km, 10km, 5km, 10km, 5km, 7.2km. For every stage there are four days in which people can do their stage, tomorrow is the last day of stage three. Teams are put together based on everyone's target time, where the organizer tried to make the teams as much equal as he could - the estimated finish times for the seven teams ranged from 3:31 to 3:42 roughly. I'm doing the second 10km stage (stage four) in my team, so Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (most likely Monday) with a target time of 56 minutes
  3. Not everywhere, at all. Although at least it seems to be getting underway a little now, but there are still plenty of places where people simply don't have the capacity and it's not a choice at all.
  4. Apart from that being sad on a personal level, I do very much love how little planes one can see in the sky these days Maybe only 3 or 4 a day instead of basically always at least a few at any given moment I guess I should find other places to live where that's the normal situation
  5. North Korea: "With face masks, the number one important measure of keeping distance suddenly doesn't matter anymore! " Ugh, some countries (not surprising of course)
  6. That would be interesting, but it's obviously not something for which I'm in a hurry. If you could at some point post it, I'd be very grateful!
  7. Do you have a list of 2016 Olympians who have died?
  8. It makes me think of all kinds of obscure cultural things that get tons of government money just to stay alive....what's the goal if apparently they don't even nearly make enough money (meaning, just not enough people care) to be at least a bit self-sustainable?
  9. Of course track cyclists couldn't train normally neither lately, nowadays they've been allowed to train on the track again but with one rider at a time. Jeffrey Hoogland, one of the world's top-2 sprinters, has made some dumb statements about the past few weeks and his training methods: "I went on the road with my track bike, had to do something right? There were almost a few crashes...sure, people in their cars didn't expect a cyclist coming at them with 60 km/h, haha." Detail: track bikes have no brakes. What a fucking idiot, who cares if he risks his own life, but he really had to risk everyone else's? How would the life have been of someone who'd have hit and killed him because he (logically) didn't expect some dude on a bike without a brake racing out of a street with 60 km/h? Go Harrie Lavreysen.
  10. Honestly, one can wonder if federations where over 90% (!) of their money comes from the IOC really deserve to keep being held upright by their hands..
  11. I do like the times when for example some thief or street thug attacks someone who turns out to be an MMA fighter...wrong choices man (mostly the cases in which said MMA fighter doesn't go all-out of course, but just grabs the thug and waits for police to arrive) Everyone has their own things they like though, one of the positive things for me about combat sports is that it does take a lot of kids off the streets (especially kids from poorer upbringings) and teaches them discipline. Doesn't work for all of course, but for a good number it does. Much more so than for example football, as one can see on the field with all those crybabies.
  12. I don't really know much about MMA fighters other than what some do inside the cage, and since I'm still two years behind in watching those events, I stay far away from news about them (spoilers) The only ones I hear talk outside the cage are the few that are co-commentating in events where they're not fighting and those that do so generally seem perfectly fine. At least with kickboxing I'm not behind and especially someone like Hari gets plenty of attention here, so it's not too hard to follow. Same here with co-commentating: Remy Bonjasky (pre and post fights) and Yousri Belgaroui (during fights) often do that and they seem to be two excellent, friendly human beings. So, that's good.
  13. Damn, did they simply list all of the Kubok Rossii participants or what?
  14. Or people trying to figure out which athletes check their own Wikipedia pages
  15. Those rumors were mostly spread to anger him I think, since most people expect him to be...let's say, not exactly positive towards homosexuality (I don't think he ever made any comments on that subject, but it's more or less what's expected). Apart from that, he's mostly known as a violent person, someone who'll almost literally punch you to death for giving him a wrong look or something. For all intents and purposes, he seems to be the kind of person the world is better without.
  16. Kurt Angle won = I agree with it being a robbery #TeamStoneColdSteveAustin Right, now to read the rest.
  17. Now I'm curious. I've thrown out a virtual fishing line, let's see if we catch ourselves an answer
  18. Wait, how do Italy and France get tripartite quota?
  19. /care
  20. In a bit of other news, Germany has joined the list of countries who have designated Hezbollah (not only the military wing, but the entire organization) as a terrorist organization.
  21. But where did it say Hartwig Gauder died of COVID-19? As far as I can see, it only says he died, unless I'm missing something.
  22. Dagestani's going at it after their match, Mongolian coaches with an angry striptease, Olympic wrestling always has something doesn't it?
  23. No they didn't, since it simply wasn't up to the league. They could want whatever they wanted, it wasn't up to them: events* are not allowed until 1 September. *meaning everything one needs an 'event license' for, including professional football
  24. I probably did, but it's so long ago I have no idea anymore
