  1. North Korea through against the South, Hungary through, cool day
  2. So I didn't miss much there Here's to Gangwon 2024, may it be much more like Lillehammer 2016 than Lausanne was.
  3. And that's the same few things that were on YouTube?
  4. Clovis Kamzong won the 4th stage in La Tropicale, which could very well be the first ever pro victory for a rider from Cameroon https://www.procyclingstats.com/race/la-tropicale-amissa-bongo/2020/stage-4
  5. I know it all doesn't mean that much, but still, 3rd and 1st for Clarey in the two trainings in Kitzbühel....I'm going to get my hopes up. I know he probably won't win, but if he does I'll most likely jump out of my chair straight through the roof.
  6. They were some of the angriest bobsledders I've seen in a while after that crash, they were ready to punch some holes in someone
  7. 16 races this weekend or you mean the total for the Youth/Junior worlds?
  8. A dickhead as he is, Zimmerman is of mixed-race. Not that I care much about one's race, but if terminology is an issue, it'd be a good idea to use the right ones on both sides (since a victim of exactly the same heritage as Zimmerman would definitely be called mixed-race - or something comparable - if he were in the sad position of Trayvon Martin).
  9. I've only seen season one so far and yeah, that was very good. One of the few series of which I've actually got a song on my phone, season two is coming after I've wrapped up some other shows.
  10. [hide] Nation Captains ITA Dorothea Wierer FRA Martin Fourcade Nation Women NOR Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold SWE Hanna Öberg CZE Marketa Davidova FRA Anaïs Bescond Nation Men NOR Johannes Dale SWE Sebastian Samuelsson SLO Jakov Fak GER Arnd Peiffer [/hide]
  11. The only 'major international channel' I found was Eurosport showing a few minutes of alpine skiing (and maybe some curling hidden somewhere on the Player)
  12. I didn't say it counts for nothing, just that I'm massively underwhelmed (especially after Lillehammer 2016 and to some extent Buenos Aires 2018). Also: don't mind me, it's mostly just my frustration about these Games speaking.
  13. I'm curious how these games were better than Lillehammer.
  14. Reigning world champion Twan van Gendt suffered a bad hand injury during the last big strength session in the gym. He's had surgery and will be out for 8-12 weeks, which he hopes will be in time to qualify and prepare for the Olympics.
  15. This contest should count towards the official standings In all seriousness: one of the best contests we've had, especially in terms of the format. I like this way more than the standard "X wins by Y goals" kind of things (although I'lll gladly participate in those as well of course).
  16. I knew not to expect a lot, but still feel disappointed now that it's all over: I've barely seen anything, because the things I wanted to see (a lot of the classic winter sports) weren't shown, and that makes it a lot harder to really get into it. I'd rate it a 3 out of 10 in terms of how I feel about it, meh. I feel sorry for the many youth athletes who were sort of made to believe they'd compete in something huge, without realizing the IOC doesn't give a fuck.
  17. And even worse: in the final, the commentator just keeps calling Shogo Miyata (Japanese, male) Kim Chan-seo (South Korean, female) throughout the entire final I don't know how he doesn't see it's clearly not a South Korean suit he's wearing. Even worse: he doesn't even know Kim is a girl. "And Kim Chan-seo gets another gold medal to go with his 1000m gold medal!" That's just two wrong things in one: Kim is a girl and Kim got 1000m silver

  20. Oh and what's the logic behind the shorttrack relay having both letters and colours? They're only mentioned as "Team A", "Team G" etc on the start lists, while the commentator literally only mentions their colours ("the blues are in front, but here come the whites!"). Meaning you have to follow three separate things (athletes, colours and letters) to follow your favourite athletes
  21. Watching the shorttrack now and it's unbelievable how bad the TV directors were, every single time I mean, they didn't show most events these Youth Olympics, but at least they showed shorttrack...and then they did it that bad, only showing the leader even if the leader is completely alone and there's a huge fight behind them.
  22. Personally I find Dave The Rocket Ryding more annoying. Maybe because the Dutch commentator calls him that every single time.
