  1. The ever prestigious one mile steeplechase, a staple of top-level athletics meets ever since that one day in August 2025.
  2. Smurfette now announcing the 1500m, very curious what Laros can do this time
  3. Aregawi running again is a nice throwback to this epic Olympic final
  4. Abeba Aregawi, wasn't expecting to see her again
  5. 10.76 for Jefferson-Wooden. Mediocre.
  6. Patrizia van der Weken feeling the vibes and about ready to beat SAFP and Jefferson-Wooden.
  7. Quite the year for him, already won the Universiade gold in a new NR, which he now destroyed already Keep this up and he is definitely a dangerous outsider in Tokyo.
  8. And that's a Diamond League win for Ruben Querinjean
  9. It's just so annoying that half of the field events nowadays are not even shown during the meeting. I mean, they show literally three attempts, in order from 3rd to 2nd to 1st, so with absolutely zero tension at all. Whoever thought of that can get fired, for all I care
  10. To be clear, it may indeed be quite bad, but unlike what those headlines suggest, luckily I don't think we need to fear for her life considering she posted on her own social media already. What she is describing doesn't exactly seem like a healthy way to train, by the way, avoiding lunch breaks and with that avoiding important nutrition (and rest) and so on...
  11. Today a nearly perfect example of this: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNlXfsRoZi3/ / (Sara) Marita Kramer has announced her retirement from ski jumping. Kind of tragic how that has gone. Top of the world before she was 20, even dominating for a short while, then missed the Olympics due to a positive COVID test and that was basically that for her career. As she said, missing that opportunity hit a lot harder than she originally thought and now she made clear thtat she basically didn't have any joy in it ever since.
  12. Has anyone ever heard of athletes from their country being obligated to hand in the results of a massive list of blood tests before the Olympics (as in, even if you qualify, you can't go if you don't comply with that), not only including values of certain minerals and whatnot, but even including tests for - I kid you not - HIV, hepatitis A, B and C and, yes, syphilis?
  13. Or for Raducanu.
  14. If the will and motivation to keep training as hard as is required (nearly) every day, there is less sense in trying to keep going...
  15. Roglic came to the sport having originally been a ski jumper, to be exact
  16. A war to be stopped, but luckily Don has his priorities in order and is showing off his various caps and hats. One would absolutely assume this is AI, but you know, considering it's his communications advisor/spokesperson/whatever posting it, you can somewhat doubt that. Still, it must be too ridiculous to be real, any sane person would hope.
  17. That'd be awesome Honestly, considering the obscurity of plenty of things in the World Games, I'm somewhat surprised that one would be able to set up a program for a third global event that would still be so diverse that a majority of people interested in sports would be likely to find at least one or two things to their liking
  18. Jai alai! Definitely not Indonesian, but Basque and a close relative to Basque pelota, but the fastest ball sport in the world apparently - in terms of ball speed.
  19. With the help of ChatGPT, I think I've combined everything that has been mentioned here into one new list. This will bring us to roughly 250-300 medal events. Certainly lots to work out yet, I know for example timber sports doesn't really have 'axe' and 'saw' as separate events, but we should have the hot saw and a few more which I have in mind but don't know the names of (like chopping wood, climbing a tower while chopping steps out of it, etc). We're getting somewhere!
  20. Does the great Viktor Krum still play? That'd be an awesome addition at the Global Games, might be on some posters.
  21. They're aware they need to just do absolutely nothing while waiting, knowing that literally any wrong word or anything that sounds like perhaps, maybe, slightly disagreeing with Trump, will send him off on one of his many broken sentence filled rants, like a bull to a red rag.
  22. Darts has been mentioned and is, in fact, already in the very first list you might see in the OP Snooker was in the World Games. Speedway could be in, certainly!
  23. There's also the squash-like thing where the ball reaches extreme speeds, I believe an Indonesian sounding name...something with a J I think.
  24. That might be a good idea for the Global Games, with that criterium alone I think we will already be able to fill it up very nicely. There's still going to be a lot of other sports left then, so for those we will likely have to go for a fourth event indeed, not sure about the name yet. Don't worry about the practical issues of organizing it, one of the steps in our plan is to find a billionaire who wants to fix this for us, so it's basically just a matter of following our plan. No doubt Qatar will want to host it, or who knows, Nepal or Brunei or something would be cool. That'll likely sort itself out once we find our source of finances.
