  1. Thanks, I'll have a look there! Sorry for asking, but I don't really read anything here until I've seen what I want to see, since unfortunately we don't have separate threads for all the sports so results of everything are mixed in together
  2. Catching up on some muay thai from yesterday, the knee right in the rib cage that finished this fight immediately was a beauty Best shot of the day it seems, all the other semis were just based on points in the end, nothing too special.
  3. Did the wakeboard cable finals end up being shown? The schedule's first stream starts with the skim finals, it seems, but cable is what I want to see Also: I assume the 'cancelled' softball medal matches will be rescheduled..
  4. By the way, so far commentary has been fine, but then I was watching this morning's dragon boat racing and the well-known curse of the generic English commentator surfaced In the 10-seater 200m final she was going on about how it was a supertight race, followed at the finish by an exclamation of Chinese Taipei's victory. Too bad there's no finish photo, but in fact Thailand won, Chinese Taipei wasn't even in the medals and....it wasn't close, Thailand literally won by nearly a full boat length The next race was a 500 meter, where the commentator taught us a valuable piece of information specific for dragon boat racing, I suppose: first singling out a specific boat (forgot which one) and saying "they trained so hard for this event" (thanks, I assume the rest didn't?), and then telling us "the 500 meter race is considered a longer event than the 200 meter race". Ah, I was wondering which of the two was the longest. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
  5. Not entirely sure, but the Netherlands might have a chance this time I think.
  6. Ah, right, I was confused with that nonsense we had in Paris This seems better, certainly. It can replace boxing or taekwondo then
  7. I would immediately guess Dong Dong but that's just because I remembered his name because of, well, I'm sure it's no surprise how it is easy to remember his name (and he's the only name I can think of)
  8. But then without the nonsense of 'you get DQ'ed if you knock your opponent out', of course. It's a combat sport, one should be going all-out and not be holding back on purpose
  9. If that was an option, definitely. Although personally I also like trampoline, at least it's different than anything else (and relatable for lots of people who have stood on a trampoline at least once in their life), but tumbling certainly beats it
  10. Good job in taking away my joy immediately Meh.
  11. Tumbling should so absolutely be on the Olympic program. Holy moly, that is awesome.
  12. What's the difference between the "open 8-seater" and the "10-seater" in the dragon boat racing (besides obviously the number of athletes )? The 10-seater also seems to be mixed, no? Also, can someone tell the commentator that Myanmar is Myanmar, and not Man-yeemar?
  13. Apparently there are different versions. I've seen women do something without anything and men with a stick (yesterday) and a sword (today)
  14. I gave up after 5 minutes this morning Cool to see someone swing a stick or a sword for a bit, but for the untrained eye, it quickly looks like when a kid is just messing around with a stick in the back yard
  15. Hold on a second. So, the entire preliminary/group phase of the tug-of-war was done with one match at a time, one by one, taking nearly two hours. Fine by me, it gives them all the attention they deserve. But then the semi-finals are there, now it gets real....and then they do both semi's at the same time next to one another?! The fuck guys, now that it starts to get serious for real, they take away the focus Edit: and because of that, one of the semi's is just not even really shown Come on, which drunk thought of this? They're literally showing the teams in one semi standing around after the first pull while the other semi is still going on, for fuck's sake man.
  16. Roelof Stoetzer with an issue with his manikin during the 100m with fins, ended up with a DQ. Good thing they do so with manikins and not with men dressed in a mankini, as was @Josh's suggestion, or else he'd have drowned.
  17. Ah, Brian Timmers is indeed the brother of Rob Timmermans in the karate Too bad Brian didn't make the semis.
  18. This manikin carry with fins...basically that is a freestyle race with a weight attached to your legs, they're not really swimming in an entirely different way. One would imagine a lot of the, say, semi-finalists in the 100m freestyle in the Singapore world championships would have a serious medal chance here, no?
  19. In the tug-of-war, much like in 1940, put up a fight as much as they could, but capitulated shockingly fast against . Too bad, after already being pulled over by a bunch of small Taiwanese guys, this is certainly done.
  20. Cool! Originally competed for Curaçao, but I guess he needed to switch to Aruba for this, while he is most certainly Dutch (he has his own dojo or whatever you call it here)
  21. First swimmer carries a manikin halfway, where a teammate is waiting to take over the manikin and carry it to the other side of the pool. There athlete three starts and basically repeats it, so at the start, there are two athletes of each team waiting at the 25m mark, the pool is somewhat full
  22. The tug-of-war stream is now available on-demand, so those who want to do so (me, me, me) can now watch
  23. Looked nicer than the 50m manikin carry, which is in reality just a 20m freestyle followed by a dive and another 20m manikin carry
  24. 2.62 second world record in an event of just over a minute I assume this is a bit of a new event, considering the old WR was arguably not that strong yet? Cool event though!
  25. 4x25m in a 50m pool, this must be interesting
