  1. published some a while ago, but I can't be bothered to go back in their NOC's feed since *alpine skiing spoiler* They made a new post today though, showing off a jacket, a pair of pants and some....I guess shoes for regular moments? Not really sure when to wear those shoes but I like the jacket and pants! https://www.instagram.com/p/DRPgePqEVjn/
  2. Already going to be one of the most awesome results of the winter, Hallberg with Finland's first World Cup podium since January 2013 and the first man to do so since legendary Kalle Palander in December 2007 (!) and out of all places, he did it in Levi Nice fresh -20 degrees, but I think the temperature went up quite quickly after that in the party
  3. Does 'disqualified' count as 'competed'? Just to be sure
  4. I have been significantly too busy to think of this, my bad and thanks for the reminder!
  5. Good to see Totallympics is still working. CloudFlare has some major issues since 20 minutes or so, half the internet seems to be down
  6. If he secretly meant it as a joke I like it, but...yeah
  7. 1,5 years later, I assume by now a tennis court has been built....right....? Also, I see TBD in the OP for the dates, but there actually are dates already (yes, already, because I thought that wouldn't happen until spring of 2026 ). Opening 31 October 2026 Closing 13 November 2026
  8. The timing? That's just such an odd reason in a year in the middle of the Olympic cycle and with no senior world championships. Sure, youth/junior world championships, but as an athlete I'd certainly prefer Youth Olympics.
  9. Time for Netherlands to not do something stupid against Lithuania If it does, and Lithuania wins by say 1 goal difference, older viewers will relive a trauma considering they experienced the highly-likely bribed Spain - Malta 12-1 in 1984 and, you know, Poland is playing......Malta It might be less tempting for Malta to give up their honor for some houses in Poland than it was back in the 80's for a bunch of Spanish luxury villas, and Maltese players of today may get paid better than Maltese players of the 80's, but still better avoid even the chance of such a repeat
  10. Manganello was an unsympathetic winner, damn Even going so far as to push Kerkhoff. Manganello is nearly a century old, surely she has heard of basic tactics like not taking turns in a lead group when you have your sprinter team mate behind you in the peloton. Manganello has even been a cyclist, come on, it's not that difficult.
  11. 33.67 vs 33.78 (Koskhin vs Kim) Must have been a super nice race. No idea, NOS didn't show it. Oh no, they broadcast the World Cup of course, they just decided to skip the first two races in the men's 500m (skipping the first 1-2 races in a distance is entirely normal for them) to show an interview, and with that miss one of the very best ever races
  12. That did not go well. Got beaten by Jaque by nearly 2 minutes. Jaque ends up with, if I am not mistaken, 164 FIS points, which is of course a step to the dreaded sub-150, but on the other hand: if she does this every single distance race from now on, it still won't be enough to end up under 150 (even with last season's 127). One somewhat unfortunate bit of luck is Kerttu Niskanen: if she had been 0,5 seconds slower, she would have been out of the top-5, Sofie Krehl would have been 5th and because of that everyone would have gotten 13 points higher. But yeah, we don't control that
  13. Dutch Wikipedia says anonimity is indeed why he did it
  14. That would have been interesting indeed, although to be fair, altitude works a bit less well in the 10k (just look at how relatively normal it is for riders who don't even qualify for World Cups nowadays to go under 13 minutes on sea level).
  15. They're not shown anywhere. Even in the Netherlands we only sometimes get a small glimpse of it when NOS has a camera there to record a specific athlete (like a Dutch rider or in the rare occassion of a top level rider doing the B division for whatever reason). Even then it's not live, but just a short glimpse they'll show in the broadcast around the A divisions.
  16. With his 1500m PB, Jordan Stolz is now the all-time number one speed skater in the world No surprise, but still. Let's see if he will reign as long as Cindy Klassen already has
  17. Fun fact: due to the cold tomorrow morning, an exception is made and electronically warmed socks are allowed Not bad news for Bruna, who got a pair today after hearing about it. Might help to especially not have her left foot frozen, which still happens basically every time since the accident.
  18. Finn Sonnekalb just obliterated Jordan Stolz' junior WR. With his current level, Sonnekalb has absolutely thrown himself in with the very best in the world.
  19. 1500m, let's see if anyone can in any way close in on Cindy Klassen in the all-time ranking. Not likely at all, most likely she'll stay on top for several more years and it's already been over two decades
  20. Very mediocre results for De Boo (especially) and Diniz. The breaks didn't help neither.
  21. For European viewers: Zach Stoppelmoor makes me want to have Eurosport's 'Watts' program back.
