  1. Sprint semi's have started, vamos Aline
  2. I'm amazed how close you got in most of them
  3. As expected, Cristian with the fastest time in qualifying and he certainly did not at all look like he was really pushing it.
  4. I don't know if Romele has been somewhat sick or injured for the past two years, but if not, one may - judged by every recent competition - reasonably expect him to be 5-10 seconds behind Cristian (perhaps not in qualifying, but in the finals, yeah)
  5. Aline 3rd in qualifying by the way, that's a promising start to the day!
  6. Nowadays he is generally in a league of his own, also when the Chinese compete Bruna was in touch with the para team's coach yesterday (her very first coach of many years ago and former Olympian Leandro Ribela), and there are no issues or anything. If he's indeed healthy and doesn't fall, he should be at least a 90% favourite or so. If not more.
  7. Oh they'd be mightily disappointed with a silver or bronze (and rightfully so). This is not the kind of situation where you 'win bronze' or something If Aline Rocha gets bronze, yeah, that would certainly be awesome. Cristian Ribera getting bronze would be a major disappointment.
  8. Right, ready for Brazil's first ever Paralympic Winter Games gold medal today And with watching live actually being possible, vamos.
  9. Meanwhile, Mojtaba Khameini, Ali's son, has been picked as the new Supreme Leader. Curious who will follow him later this month
  10. First time there is not a single Dutch rider on the podium since 1987, also in Heerenveen, which was the first major allround tournament under a roof
  11. Four silver medals for Sverre Lunde Pedersen, four silver medals for Håvard Bøkko, but Sander Eitrem is actually going to do it and finally be the first Norwegian man to follow in the legendary 1994 footsteps of Johann Olav Koss as world allround champion Took them 32 years but the 37th world title for Norway is finally there.
  12. Wiklund is Norway's first female all round world champion since 1938 88 years, but still, close enough
  13. Martina Sablikova did so today. It was awesome, goosebumps when in her last lap of the 3k she just got up and started a well deserved lap of honor with a standing ovation from the Thialf crowd. Like she said, there's no way she would say goodbye anywhere else. So odd, literally more than half my life I've seen Sablikova as part of all major championships. What a legend.
  14. Ended up not paying attention Any of you up for a game in 20 minutes or so?
  15. Where would one go about watching alpine and cross-country skiing or biathlon? IPC YouTube only seems to have ice hockey and curling
  16. Curious for Wednesday....De Boo will race Joy Beune in a 3k, after he told Beune's boyfriend Kjeld Nuis that he'd be able to beat her It will be his first ever 3k.
  17. Saturday! Probably, available for most of the day in between sports and a moment of doing groceries
  18. Exactly. Although at least financially it doesn't matter for the Brazilians, since they get the same amount of money as non-para athletes even if there's only 10 athletes or so in a competition But in terms of fun and experience, yeah, this sucks.
  19. Oh that's such a shame, the two Brazilians were so much looking forward to it Meh.
  20. Are the flags actually carried by volunteers instead of the announced flag bearers? Seems the case for Brazil at least...
  21. I mean some sort of a semi-serious sanction for it.
  22. So you have decided to leave Totallympics, considering there's no way that runs without US products?
  23. Plenty of people here as well who would, in the same line, want to see USA, Iran, Israel (Sudan?) banned, for example.
  24. Well, yeah. So basically there's not really going to be something called 'the final'. Fantastic.
