    I didn't know they were allowed to do that at the Olympics..it's like a reserve so that they can still choose who'll actually fight?

    Besides, it's not like with normal preparation they would have been very likely to win a medal.. of course everyone wants to be at their best at the Olympics, but I know I'd definitely enjoy it if I would have the chance to suddenly go to Rio.

    He was there in 2012 for the last time too Rhode would be very nice, a true legend indeed, and not in a sport in which you can win a trainload of medals in one Olympics.

    Well I think there's always countries who announce it at the last moment. Like the Netherlands, our flagbearer is usually announced 1-2 days before the opening/closing ceremony

    Well she still had to have a top-10 finish at the European championships. She didn't have that, because she finished 11th. One of the ten in front of her got disqualified and because of that she has reached our NOC's qualifying standards, I just have no idea who got disqualified

    I don't know who, but someone was disqualified from the European Championships and now Anne Terpstra will go for us to Rio because she needed a top-10 finish there to qualify and ended 11th (10th now with the DSQ)

    If she has been staying outside of Russia and away from the Russian state-sponsored doping system for the past 3-4 years or so, it would indeed be injustice that she can't go to Rio. Though as far as I know she hasn't been living in Monaco for a long time already. And no, Gatlin going to Rio is no justice.
