  1. One hour to go until the Dutch single distance champs get underway, this is gonna be fun if the insane times in pre-season are any indication
  2. 'Cool', apart from a lot of troubles surrounding the whole issue (like high crime rates and stuff like that)
  3. Just looking at the statistics
  4. They're mostly from Afghanistan, Antilles, Suriname, Eastern Europe, Morocco, Turkey, but not Algeria (at least not so many)
  5. I think I have honestly never seen this flag in my life anywhere in real (including Amsterdam, Barcelona, London, Berlin and a shitload of smaller places) and apart from a month in Brazil, my entire life has been inside Europe
  6. Then I'd say your situation is not much worse, because you knew (or could have known) that buying a ticket to Barcelona right now of all times was probably not the smartest thing ever
  7. Interview with Paulina Fialkova @hckosice https://biathlon23.wordpress.com/2017/10/26/paulina-fialkova-the-interview/
  8. I thought the outcome of the referendum was a majority for Yes?
  9. Apparently she didn't reject the allegations, which sort of sounds like an admission of guilt, especially when apologizing for her actions.
  10. What exactly is 'this'? The UAE/Israel situation, Turkey getting another top athlete from another country or something I haven't seen yet?
  11. No Gabriela Koukalova in Östersund. She's still having too many problems with some muscles in her legs and will go to Finland for some extra training sessions to make up for the lost time this summer. Participation in the Olympics is 'in danger'. https://www.facebook.com/biathlon.inside/photos/a.1683656038583184.1073741829.1683575055257949/2051512428464208/?type=3&permPage=1
  12. Slovenian world champs silver medalist Mihael Zgank switches to Turkey http://www.judoinside.com/news/2352/Slovenian_World_Championships_runner_up_Mihael_Zgank_switches_to_Turkey
  13. The United Arab Emirates strangely still have not lost the right to organize international events, so we had this yesterday. Tal Flicker of Israel won the gold medal in his category. I mean, Tal Flicker of the international judo federation. It really is time to kick these events out of medievel countries that can't even simply hoist a flag and play an anthem when someone wins
  14. That was one awesome game last night indeed No problem if Roberts loses, that dude is so freaking disgusting. I know almost all of those players have that disgusting spitting habit, but he does it even more than anyone else. Ugh. Grow up man.
  15. On the other hand, the exact same player should have been sent off like 3 minutes earlier for an insane tackle which only got him yellow, so..karma's a bitch
  16. Earlier this month I found out one of our paid sports channels has 2-3 live NHL games per week, so I like watching it, but half the time I completely lose sight of the puck and then the commentator goes like "he shoots, he scoooooores!" and I'm all confused like "huh wait, what? Where? Who? When?"
  17. "This is moving too fast for me", which is understandable because ice hockey is impossible to follow for people without computer brains or slow motions It's entirely volunteer 'work' which is only for the fun of it
  18. Ooooooh right...mixed curling doubles is Olympic now
  19. There you go, an item 100% about a Slovak ice hockey player (and team) in Dutch media http://frontpage.fok.nl/nieuws/779394/1/1/50/ijshockeytalent-scoort-wereldgoal-in-khl.html
  20. Quite a decent first goal in your top-level career
  21. On the other hand, a lot of way more weird things have happened than what it would be if the Astros come back from 0-2. In the end there's a reason that bookmakers almost never have really high or low odds for one team: the chances are quite often somewhere within the 40/60 - 60/40 range, way more often than in many other sports. But yeah, it'll definitely help their cause if Verlander does another great job tonight.
  22. Hard to know who to cheer for. I like the Dodgers because Jansen and Turner, but I like the Astros because Kuechel and they never won the World Series before. I'm just hoping for tense games and please, not a 4-0
  23. This...probably is a goal, right? Wrong. Football is a medievel sport, and so it's no goal because no goal line technology
  24. It's not news anymore but it does deserve a mention: sadly no Severin Freund at the Olympics, bad luck just keeps haunting the poor guy and another massive injury has already cost him his season before it even started
