  1. Thanks! And 204kg is impressive, she seems to be back on her old level then (which should be expected from a teenager to be fair :p )
  2. Emojis/smileys/flags aren't working anymore here. I mean, only when I go to the menu and select them, but not when I write the code :KAZ :d :D :test: :NED
  3. Do you happen to know what Jiang Huihua has been doing since she won the world title (48kg) as a 17-year old in 2015? I see she's finally back with only junior wolds in 2016 as other major competition since that world title. Any weights or something she has been lifting?
  4. Holy crap In not even really good conditions, Patrick Roest just won the 5km in 6:08.98, a new track record in Heerenveen and annihilating Sven Kramer in a man-to-man fight Just for context, these were the 25 fastest ever times in Heerenveen: On the all-time list he is now tied 13th with Carl Verheijen.
  5. Tottenham is gonna be so pissed
  6. And the knife cuts both ways: you're basically our only connection with China now, so feel free to inform us about Chinese sports and stuff At least for me it's one of the hardest countries to find some (sports-related) information about, since Google Translate is not exactly great with Chinese
  7. Much like Queen having a history of naming songs after journalists who are going to be killed 30 years later.
  8. The plans for a European 'Super League' seem to be more and more serious, with apparently an agreement between teams to start in 2021, basically ending the Champions League (or at least the importance of it). Of course it's not going to be a competition for which one can qualify, but only for the super duper elite (based on history I guess, since even mediocre AC Milan is in). Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, Bayern, Chelsea, Arsenal, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Liverpool and AC Milan are the main teams, with Atlético Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Olympique Marseille, Inter Milan and AS Roma getting 'guest spots'. Horror show if this actually happens.
  9. At the first start he moved so they had to start over, then at the start he reacted really slowly and easily lost two tenths of a second there, which made him finish in 6th. Senegal cheered
  10. Verbij 35.03 Smeekens 35.04 Nuis 35.19 Mulder & Mulder 35.22 They qualify for the World Cup
  11. Twin brothers Ronald and Michel Mulder finish tied for 4th with 35.22 Just like in 2006 when they made their debut with the exact same time
  12. Yeah I guess for athletes in relatively big sports this is a bit different and their careers don't depend as much on it...meanwhile Bolsonaro is singlehandedly breaking down the Olympic hopes of athletes in smaller sports, like my girlfriend (who has a very real chance to qualify in cross-country skiing).
  13. I really wonder how Om is going to put on some weight for 61kg...something like Scarantino is tall enough to do it I guess, but Om is as compact as can be
  14. Om lowered to 155, smart. Although I'd have gone for 150 for the first attempt since priority 1 should be the gold
  15. Everyone messing around with those children weights of 140-142kg or something, while Om is still waiting with his 160
  16. Let's keep it to weightlifting here though, I'm still planning on watching the gymnastics after this so a weightlifting thread should be safe
  17. Chontey made a 3rd attempt
  18. About the 3-letter abbreviations: it is a little unfortunate they literally only use the first 3 letters, considering there's both Chontey and Chomchuen in the same competition
  19. To be fair, only 1 out of 6 possible WR's today means IWF at least did quite a good job in setting WR's not too easy
  20. "Fly a flag" sounds like those nationalists who need to have flags in their garden and everywhere and salute when they see their flag anywhere and sing the anthem every morning and make children start their school days by reciting some national verse or something
  21. NEW USER ALERT @Function CR Lee Ni hao and welcome to Totallympics
  22. According to someone who I think is knowledgeable on the matter (on Reddit), the Turkmen woman actually did have 104kg on the bar when 104kg was announced, but there was a problem with the lifting order.
