  1. Meanwhile Bertens is putting herself in prime position for a major epic choke
  2. I know, it's quite obvious the chance is a thousand times bigger that someone from the 1990's will be number one at some point than the chance that nobody from the 1990's ever will, just wondering if in theory it would be possible to skip the era (but of course, purely in theory, it would )
  3. Not mathematically impossible, right?
  4. Only in Dutch https://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20180709_03604205 Basically three men will start and after their turn they will hand over to three women. Fastest combined time wins.
  5. Next year at the world championships: mixed team time trial
  6. Five time gold medalist Hans Günter Winkler. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Günter_Winkler Odd Wikipedia, mostly this line seems like it's been written by someone who narrowly missed the gold behind him:
  7. 15.10 Mitchelton-Scott 15.15 Sky 15.20 Movistar 15.25 Groupama-FDJ 15.30 BMC 15.35 EF Education First-Drapac 15.40 UAE Emirates 15.45 AG2R 15.50 Fortuneo-Samsic 15.55 Direct Energie 16.00 Lotto Soudal 16.05 Lotto Djumbo 16.10 Cofidis 16.15 Sunweb 16.20 Dimension Data 16.25 Katusha 16.30 Bahrain 16.35 Trek-Segafredo 16.40 Astana 16.45 Wanty 16.50 Quick Step 16.55 Bora
  8. Two year old boy shot himself to death with his parents pistol in, surprise, the US. https://www.fresnobee.com/news/local/article214504689.html Now it's a matter of waiting for Trump to say all 2-year olds should be armed with guns to protect themselves against themselves.
  9. That is one combination you don't often see
  10. See? I swear Rwanda 2025 is gonna be amazing
  11. Why not? They have the organization to host a world champs (and if not, Belgium is helping them and say what you want, but Belgium is experienced in hosting cycling), they have enough hotels, there are plenty of opportunities to put down some nice courses, the weather is good and most importantly, the people love cycling and these championships would 'live' among the locals as no championships have ever done before. It would basically be the exact opposite of Qatar 2016 in terms of enthousiasm.
  12. Yes they have streets! Never heard of the Tour of Rwanda where entire villages get out and about to cheer the riders on? I'm actually not being sarcastic or something when I say I've almost never seen the atmosphere I've seen in some videos from Rwanda
  13. Rwanda is going to go and try to get the 2025 World Championships, with Belgian support. https://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20180708_03603335 Belgian might have a colonial past to make up for It'd be so awesome if Rwanda gets it, those images and stuff from the races on the Wall of Kigali and around the country are just incredible
  14. Is there a video for this? I don't know where to look
  15. This is the kind of game where Fourcade gets 15 consecutive podiums and then you pick him (because you 'saved' him to not use all the best athletes at the beginning of the season) and right in that race he misses 6 shots and finishes 68th or something
  16. By the way, my start in that pick'em competition: Your 1 worst result will be scratched at the end (to have one 'wildcard' for stuff like DNF's or falls), but this is gonna be hard One more result like this and I'm gonna start picking Florian Vachon, Oliviero Troia, Thomas Scully and Marco Minnaard.
  17. I really wish I thought of that a few days earlier Now that I think of it, we could have that for more stuff, like a biathlon/alpine skiing season or whatever, there's easily 20+ races in which to choose one athlete Nothing official or something, it's super easy and it's fun
  18. Yep, we can only hope he learned from his mistake
  19. On a Dutch forum we've got another game that we definitely should introduce here but I forgot A pick'em game, where every stage you simply choose one rider (you can choose every rider only once) and his finishing position in that stage is your number of points for that stage. Player with the lowest number of points wins It can hardly be easier to organize (people count their own points in plain sight, so everyone can easily count if you're not messing up) and it can be both fun and horribly frustrating (like if you choose Gaviria for today ).
  20. Oh, that. Yeah that was not Sagan's smartest move ever
  21. By the way, that's two riders out of it so far, Grmay's DNF taking the Ethiopian pride out on the first weekend and LL Cool S being out is screwing half my prediction contests because he's a sure thing to go on the attack at least 36 times
  22. Hold on a minute! Without googling I know Zdeno Chara too
  23. Skantars, Hochschorners, Toth, Velez Z, Vlhova/Vhlova, Fialkova, Fialkova, Kuzmina, Volko, Sagan, Sagan, Zampa, Zampa to name a few
  24. Letting Froome ride doesn't really have anything to do with Sagan's chances
