Apparently I was wrong, looking at the SMR/mixed days of last season. I guess it was only allowed in the IBU Cup then. Strange that it wouldn't be allowed in the World Cup, one would expect a federation wanting the strongest athletes in most races.

Whatever is decided about future bidding processes: I'd say from now on bidding should not be opened before we have a set process, meaning everyone who enters a bid does so only after the rules are clear and so automatically agrees with them. -
