And because they don't look at chances, but at medals only. A hypothetical nation with 20 4th places at world champs in the past two years will be projected to win 0 medals, whereas several medals is actually a lot more realistic in that case. -

That's easy to say now that we won't know that for sure I don't think Hirscher would have won. Good chance to win, sure, but I'd have expected him to not win.

Yes, that's what I meant: on the red course athletes need their opponent on the blue course to crash, but for Baumgartner (against Hofmeister) even that was not enough

Even on any other random course it's completely unworthy that they only do one run against each other, it's just completely unfair since it's as good as impossible to have exactly the same blue and red courses..
