Considering the Grand Final will take place in January, I think it would be nice to push the deadline to next week to give more time. I just finished my first round of listening but would be great to have some more time.

All votes are kept secret until the Grand Final, so please don't indicate in chat who you voted for to keep the surprise element intact on the Grand Final. On many occasions the final vote has crowned the winner so that's why it's important to keep the suspense alive . Additionally, as well as voting for your 12 favourite entries and awarding points from 1 to 12, please submit a 1st, 2nd and 3rd reserve in case some nations withdraw. Please indicate the priority of your reserves also.

At first the Spanish federation said that she needed surgery and would take some months to be able to train again, but it seems that she will try to compete at the Olympics even if she is injured by delaying the surgery. I'm not sure if that's a wise decision in the long run but it's her decision after all.

We did another mistake )) And it was a very stupid one ))
Our best attacking player got 2 yellows and missed last game at the group stage.
But in the afternoon at the day of 1/8 game it turned out that FIFA gave him 1 game of disqualification...
... becaues he was found in teachnical zone during or before the last game of the group stage 
All the prepared tactics was trown into the waste basket just before the game.


Now I suppose Spain can win the torunament.


 

This ended up being true. Our defense is not good but your attack has been even worse, at least in this game, and I think the Ukrainian coach made a mistake by giving up control of the ball so easily. We got lucky to convert an early goal and that was enough.

So sad to hear!  Skimo was a new sport to me, but I do recognize that name as someone who was constantly towards the top of the races.  Sad for her, for the team, for Spain, for all...will pray for her.

Right, today the men's road race and finally, on the very last day of the championships, we'll see the amazing Mur de Kigali. It's such a shame that wasn't part of the main lap, it's basically the thing I was looking forward to the most, but here we are, we get to see it at least once. Half of Kigali will be standing there, if the Tour du Rwanda is any indication.

I don't think they are better except for Kiefer, but they have performed better in major tournaments recently. That would be a fun discussion in the fencing thread.
 
Going back to athletics, 6 medals is a very good result for Italy. I would prefer 6 medals with 1 gold rather than 2 golds of the same athlete. 

Fake news. Spanish football federation, which is the entity responsible of sending the team, is not considering to boycott the World Cup at all.
