  5. women's -81kg Gold: Liang Xiaomei 281kg Silver: Wang Zhouyu 277kg Bronze: Eileen Chikamatana 256kg Wang won the snatch gold with 122kg, meanwhile Liang won also the C&J gold with a world record mark of 159kg nothing changed in the OQR of this weight class, except for the absence (suspect doping violation) of Iryna Dekha, which means that Kim Su Hyeon is now 10th (she was 11th before Today) with 245kg women's -87kg Gold: Lo Ying-Yuan 245kg Silver: Yeinny Geles 244kg Bronze: Jung A-Ram 241kg last year's world champion, Solfrid Koanda bombed out in the snatch phase (3 faults @ 115kg), but won the C&J Gold medal with 156kg, 23 kilos more than the world champion from (who won the snatch gold with 112kg) we'll see Tomorrow how much influence these score will have on the super-Heavyweights category (I doubt they will have any, however, as they're already way lower than the -81kg class)
  6. hope it's less dangerous than how it looks and he recovers quickly
  7. what happened? was he caught by a heavy punch or did he have ankle/knee troubles?
  8. the new FIBA World Ranking for the men is out therefore, we can predict the 6 Pots of the Draw of the Olympic Qualification Tournaments (some geographical/political restriction might be enforced in the draw, but nothing is clear at the moment) p.s. the draw is going to be held in November, but it's only speculation, no official date has been announced yet Pot #1 (no. 2 in the WR) (8) (10) (11) Pot #2 (12) (13) (14) (15) Pot #3 (16) (17) (18) (20) Pot #4 (21) (23) (25) (28) Pot #5 (30) (33) (34) (38) Pot #6 (41) (57) (67) (69) let's remember the format of the OQTs: there will be 4 Tournaments with 6 teams each, only the winners of those tournaments get a spot to the Olympic Games the 4 tournaments will have 2 preliminary groups of 3 teams each (Group A with teams from Pots 1, 4 and 5; Group B with teams from Pots 2, 3 and 6), the top 2 teams in each group advance to the semifinals and the winners go through to the final and decisive gold medal match.

  14. as it's been written just above, Liu Huanhua won the gold medal in the men's -102kg with a Total of 404kg Silver went to Jang Yeon Hak with 399kg (from Group B) and Bronze went to (AIN) Yauheni Tsikhantsou with 394kg Liu also won the C&J gold medal, meanwhile Tsikhantsou won the Snatch gold except for the new leader, coming from nowhere, no other memorable news are to be recorded in the men's -102kg OQR: Jang overtook his teammate Jin, but they were both already comfortably in the top part of the ranking the same happened between the guys, with Samvel Gasparyan overtaking Garik Karapetyan (and both being well within the qualifying positions) the only other man who climbed the ranking reaching a useful position is Irakli Chkheidze, 6th in Today's competition and also in the OQR (as National position, counting only 1 man per Country) anything else stays unchanged, with the qualification line staying at 388kg, score shared by Wesley Brian Kitts and Bekdoolot Rasulbekov
  15. no, Russia will not be reinstated in any case if the Russian athletes will be allowed to compete in Paris (and it's still a big "if"), it will be only and exclusively in the individual events (even the relays in those sports are not included) there's no chance they will be in Paris in any team sport (and team events in individual sports)
  16. OQP so far women's -54kg Widad Bertal Yomna Ahmed Rezk Abdalla Ayyad women's -60kg Hadjila Khelif Cynthia Temitayo Ogunsemilore
  17. Olympic Boxing is a farce! it just can't be saved by the bell everytime those who manage this sh*t are even worse than IBA, as they are so arrogant that they want to appear as honest, as the people who saved the sport
  18. https://www.parabola.cz/zpravicky/37682/rtvs-neodvysila-31-sezonu-slovenske-hokejove-extraligy/ @hckoĆĄice (not that I can't watch JOJ Sport, but I used to like the RTVS broadcasts) p.s. it's just me, or there's quite a lack of transparency in the Hockey Federation's management?
  19. if they actually want to save the sport, they should be excluded in full from Paris 2024 the rules are clear
  20. it's impossible, because more weight = more natural strenght in any case (even for non trained people) it would be too dangerous not to separate the contenders by this criteria some sports do not need to cut weight in a drastic manner (karate and taekwondo, for instance), others instead heavily rely on extreme weight cut and then gaining that extra-kilos after the official weighting before the actual competition (wrestling and weightlifting the mostly exposed to that practice) the problem could be solved by having the official weight-in just minutes before the action (and repeated controls through the day/-s), but those who always used some methods are against any innovation (even if it's done for health reasons) p.s. Taekwondo is experimenting classes based on height rather than weight at youth level (the recent Cadet Worlds used that system), but I don't think it makes sense in any other combat sport where the extreme weight cut is a problem...it's just the nature of Taekwondo that allows this classification (and only in very young people, not yet fully developed in their bodies and, above all, muscles)
  21. right now, yes but it's not mathematical yet...and losing badly a lot of games in this tournament and in the next VNL (when we're going to play once again with the "C" team for sure) might lead us in big troubles we are playing with fire...let's hope not to get burned

  24. I think he's the only one who could do it successfully
  25. I know, but he's limiting his chances in that class most likely, the 18 yr old guy has a lot more potential to gain BW and improve his score, so it's kind of an obligated move to get down to 89kg for Abokahla, but still...
