  1. men's 50m 3-Position Rifle Gold: Serhiy Kulish Silver: Sergey Kamenskiy Bronze: Patrik Jany Mixed Team Skeet Gold: Chile Silver: Ukraine #1 Bronze: Italy #1
  2. Settecolli meet in Rome (ITA) best of day #3 women's 50m Free: Blume, 24.17, Sjostrom, 24.25, Kromowidjojo, 24.36, Coleman, 24.58, Heemskerk, 24.69 men's 200m Breast: Kamminga, 2.07.63 men's 200m Free: Milak, 1.46.39 not much else to mention under an international point of view... meanwhile, we had a couple of interesting results for what concerns the Italian swimmers...in particular, Francesca Fangio won the women's 200m Breast in 2.23.06, new National record and Olympic qualifying time... Sara Franceschi was also close to the NR (she missed it out only by 1/100 of a second) by winning the women's 200m IM in 2.10.26 (in this race Katinka Hosszu was only 2nd in 2.11.61)... in the same race, but among the men, Alberto Razzetti won with 1.58.34... the women's 400m Free were won by the home hero Simona Quadarella in an average 4.06 and finally, the guys of the men's 4*200m free relay swam a solid race as a group (all of them between 1.46.8 and 1.47.1), but without any outstanding individual performance...
  3. gotta tell you in less than 5 hours (1.18 a.m. CET), when McLoughlin, Muhammad & co. would likely destroy the all time list over the distance...
  4. ranking based, I think...but I didn't find any official document about that...
  5. anti-doping as it stands is a big farce...just a political instrument for certain Countries to take advantage over others...so, the obvious answer to the 1st question is NO... for what concerns the second question, that's obvious, too...imho, true cheaters (and I underline the word true) should be excluded for their entire life (even as coaches/officials when they stop their athletic career) at least from the Olympic Games... but also the ban from the regular activity should be tougher (and somehow it should touch the athletes' wallets, too...not only their chance to compete)...
  6. Sydney, London and Los Angeles... but give me free hand on the project and a proper budget and I'm gonna make almost every big city (in the rich part of the world, obviously) the best Olympic city ever... I already have a magnificent plan to make Milan the best host city of the Summer Olympics in the world...if only I had money enough and a few "friends" in the political establishment...
  7. if only a few wada officials were trolling around... oh, wait...I thought we were talking of the Chinese and Russian champs...the US athletes are all clean as fresh water, they don't even need to be checked...certain words don't even exist in their vocabulary...
  8. I don't think it's fair when you're still in for the gold medal after losing all of your preliminary stage games... they could at least have kept the 3rd ranked teams in the group stage only in the hunt for bronze and not putting them back in the race for gold... ps not to mention the fact that a 6-team tournament is a shame...
  9. good luck (if the Surfing World Games format was complicated, this is even worse )... https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/static.wbsc.org/upload/a1fcfd30-458b-c126-56f2-c7f0453fd9fa.pdf

  11. Men's 110m Hurdles Paolo Dal Molin - 13.27 (NR) https://www.worldathletics.org/athletes/italy/paolo-dal-molin-14200099
  12. Settecolli meet in Rome (ITA) best of day #2 said of Verraszto, for we also had Milak and Hosszu shining today... Milak won the men's 200m Fly (1.53.18), Katinka won the women's 400m IM (4.36.31)... the women's 100m Fly were won by Sarah Sjostrom, but in a very modest time (for her standard), 57 "high"... the women's 100m Free, instead, went to Femke Heemskerk (53.03) ahead of the same Sjostrom (53.47) and Ranomi Kromowidjojo (53.55)... 4th was Federica Pellegrini (53.71)... for what concerns the Italian swimmers, once again Benedetta Pilato (29.69) and Arianna Castiglioni (30.06, PB) were the best in the women's 50m Breaststroke, meanwhile the same race in the men's division went to Nicolò Martinenghi in 26.59... finally, the 100m Free were won quite surprisingly by Thomas Ceccon (48.14, PB) ahead of Alessandro Miressi (48.16), while Santo Condorelli was 3rd in 48.49... in the last event of the day, Simona Quadarella won the women's 800m Free and Guilherme Pereira Da Costa won the same race in the men's division, but both didn't swim any remarkable time...
  13. mixed feelings for Italy in the Skeet events... week to forget as soon as possible for Chiara Cainero and Diana Bacosi in the women's division, hopefully just a bad day at the office for Gabriele Rossetti among the men... but definitely a great day for Tammaro Cassandro, who won the men's event and kept our Flag waiving high in Osijek... women's Skeet Gold: Zilia Batyrshina Silver: Francisca Crovetto Chadid Bronze: Victoria Larsson men's Skeet Gold: Tammaro Cassandro Silver: Federico Gil Bronze: Nicolas Vasiliou
  14. Settecolli meet in Rome (ITA) last international event before the end of the qualification period... on day 1, 2 new Italian National records highlighted the evening session... Nicolò Martinenghi won the men's 100m breaststroke, improving to 58.29* (beating Arno Kamminga, who swam 58.40, with a great comeback in the last 20m)... *4th fastest specialists ever over the distance... Arianna Castiglioni once again was better than Benedetta Pilato and Martina Carraro (the 2 selected swimmers for this race in the Italian squad) in the women's 100m Breaststroke... she improved our National record to 1.05.67...Pilato swam 1.05.84 and Carraro 1.06.08... among others, Kristof Milak won the men's 100m Fly in 50.89 (in this race we saw Santo Condorelli's comeback with a promising 51.62, just a few hundreds of a second better than Federico Burdisso and the other best Italian specialists); Sarah Sjostrom won the women's 50m Fly in 25.42, edging out Ranomi Kromowidjojo (25.43); Bruno Fratus won the men's 50m Free in 21.71 (Alessandro Miressi was second in 21.97 and Santo Condorelli was 3rd in 22.00)... Finally, Federica Pellegrini had a solo show in the women's 200m free (1.56.23 her time) and Simona Quadarella also had more or less a training session in the women's 1500m Free (15.48.81 for her)...

  21. looking at what they do with the tennis feeds, they're quick...but they always put a spoiler of the final result included in the window of the ondemand feed... if they do something like that with a single olympic feed, I don't know what I'm gonna do...
  22. yeah, I remember that it was different between Satellite, cable and red button coverage, with satellite offering more than the other options... at that time, I just got crazy jumping from one event to the other like never before (even if I've always been used to "olympic zapping" on satellite since I got my forst dish in 1996)...
  23. no, on satellite there were 24 feeds all in HD, working all day long... basically, every sport had a dedicated channel... so far, it's been the dream coverage of all times...
  24. that's what will eventually hurt me more than anything... the 8 dedicated channels (plus BBC1, BBC2 and BBC4) of 2016 (not to mention the 24 sat channels in 2012) will be missed a lot... I don't trust at all Discovery and their player, given the mess they usually do with most of their sports (using 25fps feeds...in 2021!!! and the spoiler included in the picture window of all the ondemand feeds... )... I regret the multiple sat tv channels coverage of the past already!
  25. in the women's 10m Air Rifle, Eszter Meszaros took Gold ahead of Ziva Dvorsak... Bronze went to Sofia Ceccarello... later today, on a very busy day #1, also the 10m Air Pistol finals (both women and men) will be contested...
