  1. We won our first gold 30 minutes earlier in boxing
  2. Expected loss for Morejon, but i didn't expect him to make the final either way. Orie much more active and controlling in the match. Morejon has potential, but he lacks in the thought process. Jumps in recklessly, leaves his defense wide open, was lucky he didn't land on the floor at the end of the match.
  3. Very, very tough match between the big guys now. Could go either way.
  4. Still better than X AE A-XII Musk
  5. @OlympicIRL Quick off-topic How to you pronounce "Aoife" ? It's "Ifa" or "Ifie" right? I have 2 Irish colleagues with that name and we have calls from time to time. I don't want to butcher their name
  6. Yeah, from all the polish boxers, the women's heavyweight was the best match for them by far. I too think she was a bit better and should have gotten a near win.
  7. So, what is the deal with France. Don't they have guaranteed host quotas, or the IOC forced them to earn it?
  8. Can someone explain the rules of fencing to me again. I saw a dozen times in our match against Hungary, fencer A' light blinking first, but then fencer B got the point?
  9. 33 nations with gold medals and we are not amongst them Looks like the Stoevi sisters in badminton will be our best hope. I'm less confident in one of the boxers.
  10. Tokyo numbers of 1 man and 2 women have been equaled, so the minimum expectations have been achieved. We still have 1 more category, but chances there aren't big. I'm confident we can get a couple more quotas from the 2 WQT.
  11. Kamenova got the win , but not in the fight style i like. Don't like her figure skating pirouettes and smiling, when getting pound by the Pole.
  12. Drabik losing is bad news. Now the judges would be "pressured" to have a hosts win in the next match against Kamenova..
  13. Expected loss against Guruli. Rado Rosenov as a smaller guy was always going to be at a disadvantage against the Georgian and his wider reach, but feel like the judges screwed him in the first round..
  14. Serra looks very impressive. We are heading for 2 very interesting 1/2 at 51 kg.
  15. Turkey seems unable to lose a match today.
  16. I meant non-traditional in the last 20 years or so
  17. Didn't know her tbh, so did some research and she has been IBO, WBF, WBA Intercontinental champion, so not maybe not that big of a surprise after all.
  18. After Hungary, now and Belgium get a quota from the not so traditional boxing nations.
  19. Eccles make the first big comeback today and beats her neighbor from at 66. gets the other quota, so how about that.
  20. We should be [1] 3+1, as we have 3 men's and 1 women's 1/4 left.
  21. Estelle Mossely get's the win expectedly and that would open a spot in the WQT for this 60 kg.
  22. Big drama in the Croatia - Serbia match, which is a full out aggressive punches. Sara Beram, who was the pre-match favourite got the first round, but then had a 2 point deduction penalty in the second and is going to lose the match.
  23. Kellie Harrington overcomes a second round scare and gets the quota at 60 kg, a long with Ozer of . It seems Turkey is going to be on a tear with the quotas here.
  24. And we have the first boxing quotas for Paris, which go to and in the women's 54 kg.
  25. Almost quotas time and the big bonanza.
