    All the Italians made many mistakes. They should know this track like the palm of their hand, yet it's like they were visitors.

    Good clear shots of the fall. I applaud the director who had the guts to show it again. Give this guy a medal.

    Sadly this was expected... Interruption of the race and Goggia will be psyched now, so don't expect a good run from her. Vonn should have just given it a rest after the injury, now she is completely messed up.

    Yeah, I think it's over for the win and USA get their first gold, though not with the person they'd thought.

    Brignone with a good run, but it's sad we couldn't have her be 100% for these Olympics.

    Very bumpy course. Won't be nice for Vonn's knees.

    Hofmeister didn't show that much confidence in her runs, so there is a chance for Malena. She had some luck to not be in Ledecka's bracket and skip Miki initially, though Maderova had 2 very good runs.

    It seems both courses are fairly even for now, which is always great news.

    You would think so after being a World Champion A top 4 in Q is what I'm hoping for at this time.

    Ledecka being here is like taking candy from the children. She should have done the downhill and have some competition

    Ughhh, that was an ugly slow start from Malena, but she picked it up on the second half of the course. But still a slower time, than what would have wanted.

    Norge lost in cross-country and speed skating, but never count out the vikings at the Winter Olympics

    It's funny how for basically every World Cup event we have the TV cameras on the left side of the hills. Yet for every Olympics they always have them on the right side Definitely need time to adjust.

    For a Dutchman sure For anyone else, that hasn't been raised with speed skating in their veins it's rather confusing. Especially with World Championships every year. For me, get rid of the sprint ones. Single distance every 2 years, before and after Olympics, while the All-round goes between them every 4 years. Strengthen the World Cup to have every stop be a 5-6 day event like a tennis Masters or something.

    No proper circuit, no marketing and events being crammed in 2 days mostly. Also 15 different World Championships and you never know who is the World Champion for what event at any given time. For me they should completely revamp the calendar and make the season actually mean something more.

    Our commentator mentioned that they actually never met while her great-aunt was still alive, which I find very questionable

    First gold for Italy already on day 1 Canada on the board as well , while Holland is left without medal, which is probably the biggest shock of the day.
