  1. Based on the draw, what needs to happen for Bulgaria to get a team quota?
  2. Leverkusen survives and so are Germany's chances for a 5th team in the CL next year. Though with England yet again dominating as hosts, the battle seems over imo.
  3. Hmm, after a few more days of listening and some songs are moving positions in my list. Not drastic changes from the submitted votes, but it's interesting seeing the switch of appeal with time.
  4. Saving grace in the end, but overall a disappointing tournament. We could have gotten 3-4 more quotas. All 3 women had their chances. Nwamerue was stupidly injured by her opponent, Mehmedova lost to the eventual finalist from NED, and i don't know what happened with Chukanova today. On the men, Rado Rosenov was also unfortunately cut in his match and the referee had to stop it. And at +92 Morejon got a very bad draw and lost to this new French guy, that won the quota. Frustrating because Lenzi got a quota today, when Morejon had easily dispatched him at the European Games.. Brackets will play a big factor in the final Qualifier.
  5. Unlike most years i have no complains for the winners this time. Well deserved (finally) recognition for Chris Nolan and his team.
  6. Disappointing, disappointing....
  7. I can swap with USA or Mexico. Second session will be much better for me.
  8. You can add Atanasova to that list as well. Lost the first round in the last second against Hranova after leading 5:3 Then completely gave up in the second round. Both girls had a real shot at earning a quota, but guess this sport is cursed for us... Tokyo QT were the same, just can't make a breakthrough.
  9. https://boxing.athlete365.org/boxing-road-to-paris-2024/1st-world-qualification-tournament/ At the bottom are the schedules, results etc.
  10. Why is this a problem? I thought lots of people go to Cuba casually and then return to America.
  11. CYPRUS Here is an unofficial entry for Cyprus. When i was looking for my song for the contest, i was debating between the one i selected and this one. It is a colab between BG artists Deep Zone and Cyprus born artist Aristos Constantinou. Maybe someone can say, which one they liked better, without spoiling the results of the contest of course.
  12. I can attest for the bolded part Not much for the skating and wooden shoes though. The common list for Holland, a.k.a. The Netherlands here is -> weed everywhere -> Red Light district -> very tall people -> "they hate us", mostly Bulgaria, but could also be for Eastern Europe.
  13. Easy. America is so big, that it is almost in a world of it's own. You have enough quantity of sports inside the country, that there is no need to look at the international sports. When ESPN, Fox Sports, or newspapers for decades have been covering 99% only American leagues and stars, the people have adjusted to only care, or really know, only them. Of course, the capitalistic, money grabbing (and absurd in my opinion) system of having as many matches, as physically possible, prevents any free time to even attempt watching anything else. 100 matches for your basketball and hockey teams, 200 matches for the baseball one, 40+ Nascar races, golf every week... Good luck trying to get someone to start watching ski-jumping, cycling etc.
  14. Also, it looks like Netherlands have more or less 2 boxers here and we managed to lose to both of them Not happy at all with our performance. They went for 3-4 quotas, but if we get 1 in the end, it will be a feat.
  15. Adding one more to the list of controversies. At W66 kg today Joana Nwamerue lost to Yuliannys Álvarez with a referee stoppage. And the reason for the stoppage was the issue. At the end of round 1, Joana was winning comfortably 5:0, when Alvarez unsportsmanlike twisted Joana's arm, while in a clinch. She fell down with a potential injury and the referee decided to end the match with an Alvarez win, even though Joana wanted to continue... Haven't seen the Kob - Chukanova match, so don't know what went down there, but i wouldn't be surprised, if they gave us a favour.
  16. So far, so good. 3 matches, 3 wins, but the real tests are coming soon.
  17. Isn't it a bit early for the entry list, we have a whole month until then
  18. I'm still bummed, that we most likely won't qualify the team. It's our best generation in fencing in 35 years. Last time we had a team at the OG was in 1988. Even worse, that Ilieva could lose her individual quota, after she was focusing on the team battles this year and wasn't all there in her individual tournaments.
  19. I have voted. As per usual there were lots of nice songs and ranking them was a tough task.
  20. Looks like my math was wrong and i was prematurely celebrating The other thing could be Korea out of top 4. Do you know what is the difference between Korea and Italy and if they could fall out of top 4? And vice-versa between Italy and Bulgaria and do we have a chance to pass them? And i know the worse result should be excluded from the final score, but what are they for these teams?
  21. USA are out of top 4, which gives us a qualification spot before the final World cup
  22. Told you Korea is easier for us, than a Hungary or Italy
  23. I would say good draw for us. We need USA out of top 4 to get a quota, so if Italy can knock them here, they could pass them in the rankings. Also it's better we avoided Hungary, as we always struggle against them. Korea is much more suitable from the big teams. But of course we need to first beat Azerbaijan to stay in contention.
  24. As per tradition i will most likely vote at the last moment. Expect me sometime on Sunday evening.
