  1. Amazing achievement for us to cap off a remarkable winter sport season After 3 Junior World titles and a breakthrough World Cup season, everyone here knew Tervel Zamfirov is a big name for the future, but to actually end the season with a senior World Championship Gold medal is something else. I am not sure, but this could actually be our first senior WCH title in any snow sport!
  2. Well, that is a good start. But Bach also had a good start and then it became a train wreck.
  3. So we get another decade of Bach ruling What is her position on trans athletes? Is she for or against them? Also please no new 50 m events in swimming.. There are already enough swimming events as it is, these will bring nothing new. Did anyone mention at all the idea of making the SOG 3 full weeks with the 3 pillars (athletics, swimming and gymnastics) headlining each week? That's something i'm totally onboard.
  4. So, in the end who are we rooting for?
  5. Absolutely no surprise. I have been saying for 2 years now, that boxing will be in LA 28, regardless how they'd formulate, organize it etc.
  6. Lots of chaos in Australia today to start the season. As usual, i lost the count of safety cars, that were in the race. The unpredictability and position changes were more frequent, though that was always going to happen in a wet race, but i'll take it as a promising start for 2025. Antonelli made a memorable debut after all the hype around him. This kid could actually be the real deal.
  7. IBA has become the Serbia - Russia - Uzbekistan - Kazakhstan organization at this point. We have been setting up joining World Boxing for a while, so they made sure to chastise us here for that. Thankfully this will be our last competition for them.
  8. Europe should host 2036, then India / Egypt could have 2040.
  9. I know the forum is in a rather dark timeline currently with not much engagement and activity, but I never imagined a time when we won't be having a song contest. I too have opted in and out of contests throughout the years, but it was always a given, that twice a year there will be TISC. And this for over a decade
  10. I had high expectations for Motta, but Juventus have been playing awfully almost the entire season.. The CL elimination was disastrous and they are barely hanging to top 4 in the Serie A. And with their schedule it's very possible they miss the CL next season and even dropping out of the Europa League. If i was in the Juve board i'd start panicking. And they also have the World Cup in the summer. Italia has been having a disastrous year in Europe in general. After being the top nation the past 2 years and almost getting 9 teams, now they are losing the extra CL spot and it's not sure if they'd even have a team in the 1/2 in Europe.
  11. Not the same problem, but the site has been very slowly loading for me in the past week.
  12. Always like, when my predictions/wishes come true. Who would have thought that not competing for 2 months before the Worlds wouldn't lead to the desired results. At least now we will get another season from Johaug. And if she is serious, a full season. If not, 3-4 races in December and then dropping in Cortina like she is the only one competing.
  13. Klaebo does the impossible damn But from a purely sporting perspective, the biggest injustice in the past years was that they robbed us of a legendary Klaebo - Bolshunov rivalry
  14. Pogacar is so used to easy wins, that he throws himself in the bushes just to make the race more interesting for him
  15. Wow, I have completely missed the return of Anna van der Breggen Why is that by the way?
  16. I'm satisfied with the winners, there isn't something, that i strongly dislike. From the presented options (and favorites) i think they chose mostly the ones i would have gone with. Anora was a 7/10 film when i watched it, largely because of the lackluster first part of the film. The second part was amazing. Maybe i will need a re-watch to see, if i missed something. Madison carried 80% of the film and her win was well-deserved. Her performance was always top-notch. Strong year with Torres and Moore, they would have won in many of the last 10-15 years. I'm glad for Brody winning as well. They guy did one hell of a performance.
  17. Don't want to be negative, but i slightly hope Johaug doesn't win a gold here, just for dissing the World Cup after Tour de Ski.. And she is one of my favourite skiers..
  18. Zografski with an amazing second jump It will be the best performance by a Bulgarian at the WCH in history. Training with the German team this season has been wonderful for him.
  19. BG is sending a team of 7 athletes. As usual, the goal is to reach the final, but this time there are slight medal hopes for Saraboyukov and Mitkova Men: Nikola Karamanolov - 60m Hristo Iliev - 60m Tihomir Ivanov - high jump Bozhidar Saraboyukov - long jump Lachezar Valchev - triple jump Women: Plamena Mitkova - long jump Gabriela Petrova - triple jump
  20. Oh, do elaborate. We love some backstage organization stuff mayhem.
  21. And some other pics, because why not
  22. A bit late, but today was the official 67th ceremony "Sportsperson of the year" for 2024.
