  1. Man, get a grip. I'm just joking. You seem really insecure and borderline passive-aggressive. Anyway, you made a question, I answered your question, and that's it.
  2. You wrote that some people are "snowflakes" who can't take a different opinion, still you lose it when someone presents a different point of view. Typical.
  3. When you are in a position of privilege, it's easy to call minorities "snowflakes" with feelings that can be easily hurt. When you suffer the consequences of hate speech, even when hate speech is disguised through "facts", you urge to make the world a better place for you to live, and this means not accepting any made up speech as factual truth (which, quite often, is not). The nazi tried to pass eugenics as the truth, and we all know the terrible consequences this has caused to the world. So, it is important to always pay attention to WHO is talking, and WHAT motivates the discourse which is being spoken/written/etc. And if one's "opinion" makes the world a bad place for another person to live, with all due respect, one can shove his/her opinion up his ass.
  4. Completely disagree. They fight against white supremacists and neonazis. It's one thing to have free speech, it's another thing when your free speech hurts other people and promote, ultimately, segregation to the point where even a genocide could be "explained" through your beliefs. I've had enough of disgusting people who would recruit other people to harass, hurt and even murder black people, gays, lesbians, immigrants, jews and other minorities. They might use violence to achieve their goals, but we're not all supposed to be Gandhis and Mother Teresas when we are dealing with fascists.
  5. This is why I said it was a prediction. A meteor could crash against the Earth tomorrow, who knows? Nothing is certain in life. Still, the quality of our gymnasts compared to the rest of the field makes it "safe" to assume they might do well.
  6. Thanks for the explanation. Now I'm kind of sad because we don't have yet another day for resting in Brazil as well.
  7. Not at all. Men's and Women's artistic team (2), men's rings (3), women's all around (4), women's vault (5), women's floor (6), balance beam (7) plus all 8 medals in rhythmics (AA, clubs, ribbon, hoop and ball, and 3 medals for the group routines). Plus, we will probably get 10+ gold and silver medals in rhythmics, artistic and trampoline. And these are only the "safe" bets. We might get surprise gold medals in men's artistic (especially on floor, vault and high bar) and even maybe trampoline.
  8. Wait, are Pentecoste and Corpus Christi the same thing? Or are they related somehow? We have a number of national holidays each year related to religious things, but I'm agnostic, so I pay little to no attention about what they actually mean. All I know it that in two weeks I'll not work from Thursday to Sunday, so I'm super happy about it.
  9. I have no idea what this is about, to be honest. We will have a national holiday about Corpus Christi in a week, but I have no idea what this one is about either. I just enjoy the day off.
  10. The Asian Championships are over. This was the 4th edition of the junior championships, but only the second time ever when senior gymnasts also competed. China, Japan and Uzbekistan only sent gymnasts to compete at the junior division. The women's individual senior competition only had three competitors, and one of them only performed 3 skills and then fell off of the trampoline. This couldn't have been worse for the continent.
  11. Asian trampoline gymastics qualifiers: Boys: Girls:
  12. I'm really surprised with how strong our teams are in gymnastics (artistic and rhythmic, not sure about trampoline now that our best athletes have retired, basically). I predict something around 15 gold medals and 25 medals overall. A bold prediction, but they have enough potential to reach even more if everything goes right.
  13. Well, in other news, I'm surprised with the women's artistic gymnastics team. Brazil will send the best of the best we have right now, considering Rebeca Andrade and Fabiane Valentim are recovering from injury. This team will easily finish first and has the potential to finish 1-2 in every apparatus, and also in the all-around competition. I expected a much weaker team, but they are going for it.
  14. Thanks God I don't know who this guy is. Most commentators in Brazil have no idea what they are doing. Only Henrique Motta (artistic gymnastics), Lauter Nogueira (athletics), Silina Braga (diving) and Alex Pussieldi (swimming) really know what they are talking about. All the other ones, including 99% of football commentators, are a bunch of morons who should never, ever open their mouths on national TV.
  15. Compared to the previous stages, this one was a lot more predictable. Individual finals were just okay, nothing spectacular. Group finals were pretty nice with good routines overall. Mexico scored above 17 two days in a row, which is HUGE for a non-European nation. The thing is: next year the group routines will change and all nations will basically have to start from zero. It's impossible to predict which nation will get medals at the major events, but Mexico is on the right track. Absolutely amazing routines, especially the one with balls and ropes.
  16. The Portimão Challenge Cup is over and we got some nice results. Finland got three medals, Azerbaijan finally got a gold medal, and China had great performances. Mexico surprisingly finished fourth in the group all-around, and they qualified in third for both finals, but ultimately finished out of medal contention. Brazil finished fourth twice in the group finals, which is kind of bittersweet. And we finally qualified an individual gymnast for a final, and she also placed fourth. This only goes on to show how hard it is to win a medal, any medal, in any of the stages of the World Cup circuit. Respect for all of these gymnasts. Still, the level of the competition was pretty low overall, and I don't really think Portimão should even be considered for the World Cup circuit anymore. I mean, it's nice to have a stage where gymnasts from smaller nations get a chance to reach the finals, but then again this is a World Cup event, so the level must be high. Anyway, I could swear Berlin was the next stage (it was scheduled to take place in less than two weeks), but it looks like the it was axed and the next stage will be only in August. Ugh. It's understandable since we have one more Grand Prix stage in May, and the Europeans in June, but July will be an empty month and Berlin could have been a valid option.
  17. Nice. TYC has a very nice commentator in rhythmic gymnastics. I mean, she knows what she is talking about. All the commentators in Brazil basically say "this was a beautiful performance" after literally every single performance, and that's it. How are they even paid? Morons.
  18. Wait a minute... Wasn't gymnastics part of the European Championships thing? So we will have gymnastics events at the European Games and also European Championships? I don't really dislike the European Games, but if we have Games + Championships, I believe acrobatics, aerobics and trampoline should be axed. Artistic and rhythmic are all we need. I like the way they only allow one gymnast per nation to qualify for the finals. This gives hope for smaller nations to earn a medal, especially in rhythmic gymnastics, which is a sport that absolutely needs to have some variety among the medalists instead of RUS, UKR, BLR, BUL and ISR (and ITA in groups).
  19. FIG is full of stupid and useless rules, so I really don't know how they are going to deal with this situation. In 2014 they decided to establish a minimum score in the all-around competition: if a gymnast did not reach the minimum score, he or she would not qualify. Then, half of the planet (I'm not joking) did not reach FIG's minimum criteria, so they had to say 'screw it' and drop the system altogether.
  20. But the Namibian gymnasts only performed on vault, and qualification is done through the all-around competition. If one male gymnast does not perform on all six apparatus, FIG will not consider their performance for the all-around competition. I mean, they only performed on vault, so if they actually qualified, they did it in less than five seconds. Bizarre.
  21. Only 9 nations? Well, I shouldn't be surprised, since FIG will only give 3 quotas to Africa. This is insane considering Europe gets 17 quotas.
  22. So far, this is what we have in Gymnastics (1 quota for each nation): Acrobatics (qualifications are over, no places left): Argentina also got a quota for being the host nation Artistic (only Asia finished qualifications, 26 quotas left for Africa, Americas, Europe and Oceania): Boys: Girls: Trampoline (only Africa and Europe finished qualifications, 6 quotas left for Americas, Asia and Oceania): Boys: Girls: Rhythmic (1 quota left for Oceania's qualification): Europe: Africa: Asia: Americas:
  23. The thing is she used to be a lot vocal about getting a second gold medal at the Olympics. I can't forget her face and attitude when she turned to the camera after the last point was scored in the final match and kept saying "cala a boca" (shut up) instead of being humble and celebrating like a real champ.
