  1. Well, I know that they decided to do it this way, but there was a clear rule how to do the reallocation, so I don't understand why. The rules even mentioned literally that the reallocation of quota because of doping also follows reallocation procedure F. So it has nothing to do with unexpected issue of doping
  2. Very hard to understand how the quota were reallocated. It seems they had 8 for men and 5 for women (+6 from individual) so 19. BUT they had rules to reallocate http://www.iwf.net/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2014/05/2014-05-28-Rio-2016-Qualification-System-FINAL-Weightlifting-EN.pdf Chapter F. Reallocation of Unused Quota Places. the quota place will be reallocated in the respective gender, as follows: - If the NOC qualified through the 2014 and 2015 IWF World Championships, the quota place will be reallocated to the best ranked NOC at the 2014 and 2015 IWF World Championships, not yet qualified. - If the NOC qualified through the Continental Qualification Event, the quota place will be reallocated to the next best ranked NOC at the respective event, not yet qualified. - If the athlete qualified through the Individual Qualification, the quota place will be reallocated to the next best ranked athlete on the Olympic Qualification Ranking List of 20 June 2016 whose NOC has not yet qualified a quota place. In case of a tie, the NOC which participated in the highest number of qualification events will get the quota place. And they did not seem to follow this at all. If understand then the first reallocation for men should have gone through WC to Japan, Turkey , USA .. wich would have forced recalculation of continental qualification. Only at the end of the procedure individual qualification should be looked at as it is for non qualified teams. I thought Venezuela would qualify through continentals like this instead of individual So I don't understand what they decided...
  3. I would say the complete ban for Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia will enter after Rio. If it is before Rio the removed quota would be useless for these countries?
  4. All countries that lost quota were qualified through the World championships so there will be 1 place realocated per country that did not qualify in the Worlds. So for men this means these countries will get 1 quotum at Worlds: JPN TUR USA KSA HUN VEN LTU TKM therefore the whole continental qualification should be recalculated! Any volunteers :-) ?
  5. 4th? 8th http://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1037532/russia-set-to-lose-two-rio-2016-weightlifting-spots-as-lovchev-vows-to-appeal-four-year-ban#. By the way, also Moldavia, Kazhakstan, and North Korea could have more than 6 positive cases (so -2 quota places) Belarussia and Uzbekistan risk -1 because of 4 or 5 positive cases. Nothing official yet. It will only be decided in june, so at that moment , the team qualifications can change a lot. It might be that countries that got a qualification in the continental championships already have a quotum from the world championships by redistribution. So it will also give a different calculation for the continental qualification. And in the end all the individual qualifications are also influenced by the team qualifications. So it seems a lot can change....
  6. That would be against IWF rules. If you are not on the list you are not allowed to compete, so I don't believe this can happen
  7. I was referring to the fact that you said that Finland already had a male team qualification so a Finnish girl would not be able to get a quotum individually through reallocation. That is not true. IWF will indeed take 1 quotum away from Romania but IWF will decide if they give it to male or female team.
  8. TKM and KSA both tested positive at the world championships so not very likely to be qualified ;-)
  9. This is based on the IWF website's Olympic ranking, but don't forget that these rankings still contain results from athletes that tested positive. If confirmed they will be out of these lists. ONLY NATIONS WITH NO QUALIFIED ATHLETES CAN QUALIFY but this is for male and female seperated!
  10. Sorry guys, but where did you read this rule? individual qualification is completely seperated female/male The reallocation rule is " the quota place will be reallocated in the respective gender ..to the next best ranked athlete.. whose NOC has not yet qualified a quota place"
  11. No , because IWF decides if they take the quota from male or female field. It is not stipulated how they will take the decision, but it is very unlikely that they will take "her" spot away I think
  12. No, this was a national anti-doping test, thus not entering the IWF doping statistics
