  1. That's just about the same time of the day in which the horses were arriving to Rio Olympics.
  2. Rather a peculiar case for sports psychology. Tired or not, it takes some special kinds of nutcases to miss two big winning chances in two days.
  3. I have an idea regarding the prediction contests. Maybe we can introduce the "Winners of the day" bonuses. Users are ranked by points they've won in a single day of a contest. So for example we look at the first day of the current handball contest: Gianlu33 - 88 (10) heywoodu - 85 (5) MCMXC - 81 (3) bestmen - 77 ady48 - 75 ... Every winner of the day gets 10 pts, 2nd best gets 5 pts and 3rd best gets 3 pts. These points are summed at the end of the contest and they go straight to the general standings for the season. These bonuses might encourage lower ranked users to be more interested in the later stages of the contest. Obviously it doesn't have to be 10-5-3, it can be set up differently. However, with the 10-5-3 system we would have the following current bonus points from the handball contest.
  4. Isabell Werth & Weihegold victorious in Amsterdam with 90.720% Great highlight for otherwise anti-climactic competition. Btw, five Dutch riders in top 8 but none of them on podium.
  5. Canada became the 7th nation with a medal, courtesy of Kimberly McRae.
  6. 7. Not bad results for Daria and Dania Obratov (32nd and 43rd).
  8. Obratov has been training with the German team for a while. Still, it's amazing to see the Norbert Loch supporting her like this.
  9. Haha, Norbert Loch
  10. Late starters (Baturina and Taubitz) go well inside top 10. Luge announcer says: "Did someone accidentally crank up the refrigeration?"
  11. Geisenberger makes big mistakes, it's an open season once again!
  12. However, not long ago Germany had a clean sweep of top 5 positions in men's race on this track, so it is still unusual.
  13. Apparently he hasn't competed since 2014 season. Maybe the taekwondo player can do something, he does have an athletic background at least.
  14. I think Tonga can scratch Kasete-Naufahu Skeen. More than one minute behind the winner in his first giant slalom. https://data.fis-ski.com/dynamic/results.html?sector=AL&raceid=87432
  15. World Championships started today with some surprising results in sprints. Gold medals for Hamlin, Wendl/Arlt, Kindl. Only bronze for Germany in women's and no medal for Germany in men's sprint (not even top 5). This sport is actually becoming unpredictable. 6 nations won medals today.
  16. Well, "Kazakhstan No. 1" coach is also something to be mentioned.
  17. I'm guessing that Borat might be the popular answer.
  18. Looks like we joined Spain in skipping this event...
  19. She gets a new rifle after every good performance?
  20. Disaster for Vrdoljak in short program, not even qualified for the free skate. Oh well, looks like I should prepare for the very strong possibility of Croatia having a grand total of 6 athletes in 2 sports in Korea... My pessimistic prediction in the specified thread was 8 athletes.
  21. Finally some non-horrid shooting from Crnković. Meanwhile, looks like these championships are all about Starykh and Loginov, the people's favorites.
  22. Some great scores were achieved at today's WC Grand Prix in Florida (3rd week of Global Dressage Festival). Including 68.920% for Manfredi. Now that is surely Argentinian record and a great boost for them. Apart from Florida World Cup, we also have WC in Amsterdam and jumping WC in Zurich this weekend.
  23. Antonio actually pushed her into that fall. And that triple twist is their strongest point, what a bummer.
  24. I think that Slovakia has a ski jumping hill. That makes the difference.
