    Believe it or not, victory is the main prize of a sports competition. Therefore athletes need to give it respect. Because, after all, that is what everyone strives for. Higher places are not the same thing. We see athletes having fun in such battles at every Olympic marathon, and it's always inspiring and fun.

    Well, athletes should hope that their federations are not stupid enough to still count this as a selection event. Although, to be honest, triathlon is usually mostly about running anyway, so I guess it was nice that swimming and cycling became a bit more influential, at least for this one competition...

    I don't think it was harsh at all. With this result fixing, consequently they could have shared available prize money and/or ranking points. And that just comes on top of making a mockery of competition and being disrespectful to other racers.

    Interesting, I didn't know of Top 50 requirement for wild cards. So it looks as though only would be eligible. Benin is ranked 50th so they can easily drop out too. Despite all the hype, karate is really not as globally competitive as taekwondo...
