  1. No, it is not fair. If you already must have a system where 3/4 teams advance, then at least add semifinals and finals after the round robin stage. Any system where outcomes of the meaningless matches (meaningless for at least one of the teams) can have more impact than outcomes of the direct match-ups is flawed. Besides, if you check recent championships results, you'll see that Puerto Rico has been on-par with Brazil for a while now. Also, they qualified for the 2018 Worlds, while Brazil didn't.
  2. The only good news for is that AUS vs BRA will be held before FRA vs PUR. Australia could therefore miss out if they lose to Brazil and Puerto Rico gets an unlikely victory over France. But still, had it been the other way around, the doors of corruption and match fixing would have been wide opened.
  3. And there you have it. Brazil can now defeat Australia by 40 points and still both would go through. Any victory would do it for Brazil. And I have a feeling it might happen. Worst qualification system ever.
  4. For a moment I feared that head-to-head points difference could be decisive - which could screw Puerto Rico. Head-to-head points difference would effectivelly open the doors for plenty of results-fixing. It's still possible though - seeing how FIBA thought it was a good idea to have a round robin format where 3/4 teams advance.
  5. She should have a decent chance of bettering Pujals' 51st place from Rio. If you're interested, it's possible to see her test at this link (starting right at 33:00). It's kind of funny the way she says: "This year we are trying to make it to Tokyo, so good luck to everyone else."
  6. Not to forget IJsbrand (icefire).
  7. That's interesting. In Croatian, Krivoshapka would be similar to "wrong paw".
  8. That's disappointing. I thought é in Pérez is just the accent? Ž is separate letter, and not a variation of z - it's prounounced like zh.
  9. And also in Croatian kozica means little goat, while Kožica is thin skin.
  10. Korea must be one of the luckiest qualifiers in team sports. First rugby, now this.
  11. Turns out you don't follow alpine skiing enough.
  12. Aaaand Kolega DNF'd again. First time we have nobody in points since 2017/18. And it was about time.
  13. True. But then again, I wouldn't be surprised if there are polls that artificially inflate certain options.
  14. This one is probably rigged. Always getting Trump as last (and by a margin) is iffy.
  15. Fun fact: It's KOŽICA and it means thin skin.
  16. 82% John Delaney (whoever that is), followed by Bloomberg at 81%.
  17. Almost nobody agrees that college should be free.
  18. Any there we have it - Vidović is +4.08 behind, and only -0.3 in front of a guy who climbed the course. At least Kolega had a decent run, so the cycle continues... I guess.
  19. Rodeš is a total burnout. All hope is lost for the moment. And if Rodeš is a total burnout, then what on earth is Vidović supposed to be?
  20. North American League, Stage 7 (Wellington, Florida) Steffen Peters (Suppenkasper) - 83.495% Olivia LaGoy-Weltz (Lonoir) - 79.365% Agnete Kirk Thinggaard (Blue Hors Zatchmo) - 77.635% Full results... Very nice 7th place for Mexico. @mrv86
  21. Our players must be having the time of their lives... in Jesenice of all places. Too bad they didn't go to Sapporo or something like that. Would have been a great travel opportunity.
