  1. The 800 and 1500 were already missing so many top names.
  2. I'd prefer to see Titmus go back to back but I think you might be right. In the 200 FR I think Ledecky might not even get an individual spot. She'll be pushed out by two of Sims, Weinstein and Gemmell but she'll still be there to drop her usual 1:53 split in the relay.
  3. Entry list is out https://www.omegatiming.com/File/0001170003FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF20.pdf
  4. It's surely a mistake. Just use the FINA rankings and/or the Nuoto Mondiale annual rankings which capture some fast swims from national meets that FINA misses.
  5. Brett Robinson breaks the 30 year old Australian marathon national record: 2:07.31
  6. So much can change in swimming in two years making this really difficult. Some other possible contenders: Ahmed Hafnaoui (Olympic Champion who focused on study this year) Thomas Neill (another 3:44 Australian whose season was ruined by a rough case of covid this year) David Popovici (if he swims it he can't be dismissed as a contender for gold) Lorenzo Galossi (fast rising Italian junior) 🥇Lorenzo Galossi 🥈Elijah Winnington 🥉Lukas Martens
  7. Ledecky's walls were the difference maker in that race.
  8. They are a disappointment but I'm not disappointed that we took advantage.
  9. The US's Hassan Mead tested positive for two SARMs and has received a three year ban.
  10. Can Narendra Modi Stadium even fit an athletics track? Seems like it's not long enough.
  11. They should've scheduled that match later when I'm asleep.
  12. Italian men's relays should be strong again this year.
  13. Australia used to use the time to make the top 8 at the previous global meet (Worlds or Olympics) as the qualifying time for the next one and Japan and Great Britain use similarly harsh QTs (even the US couldn't fill all available spots with some of these QTs). Worlds this year was the first in a long time Australia used the FINA QTs. It was horrible to see swimmers left home that would've been taken to the Olympics if they swam under a different nationality that uses the FINA QTs.
  14. Is this the selection meet for short course world champs?
  15. Seems she's not actually admitting to doping intentionally.
  16. Oh how I was cheering for her
  17. Li Bingjie just demolished Titmus' SC 400 free world record lowering it by 2.6 seconds to 3:51.30. https://swimswam.com/chinas-li-bingjie-rips-351-30-short-course-400free-world-record/ This was quite a weak WR but still 2.6 is a large chunk of time.
  18. Hopefully Ruta can clean up the long finish and get the WR before the end of the short course season.
  19. The European and American broadcasters (especially NBC) aren't gonna care that it's culturally different only that the timezone sucks for them.
  20. ‘FIFA Women’s World Cup broadcast rights bids are unacceptable’ — Gianni Infantino
  21. I'd love to see another Summer Olympics in South Korea but probably the IOC won't won to go to East Asia so soon after Brisbane 2032.
  22. He can still improve some of his walls so maybe he can lower it again at SC Worlds.
  23. She'll probably have McIntosh to push her in Toronto. Ledecky could feasibly break the WR at all three distances because they're all weak (Titmus' PB when she set the 400 WR was "only" 3:59 mid). I'm a little annoyed that Titmus is ignoring SCM this year despite WCs being in Melbourne because she could lower the 400 and 800 WRs as well and help the AUS 4x200 set a massive WR (they might still be able to do it but it won't be as impressive).
