  1. This just sounds like backtracking because of pressure from the locals. Su missed half the rail section, him winning gold off of one jump (that he put hands down on) would be even more ridiculous. Like you said, Canada and Parrot in particular has been shafted in this event the last 2 Olympics and no one said anything about Americans getting undeserved golds. Frankly, it's unprofessional and unclassy to say shit like this after the fact by judges.
  2. Tonight I went out for dinner and drinks (mostly drinks) with some friends in Wukesong, where the Wukesong Hockey Arena is located. Wukesong isn't really a neighbourhood, it's a purposefully made nightlife area (though they close by 11pm apparently...). It is sunken and has tons of "foreign" restaurants and bars, and an Ikea. It is a 15 minute scooter ride from my place. The Japan/Czechia hockey game was just finishing up when I got there. Here are some pics of the venue.
  3. No, I was just making fun of myself. You already asked about short track and I knew the answer was Fontana but I went homer pick instead. This is why I don't bet money on sports, I can't bet against the people I want to win.
  4. Tonight I went out with some British and South African friends and on the Chinese news on the TV in the restaurant they showed Canada winning the ski jump medal (only the Canadian team). This was in the middle of short track and Eileen Gu news. Everyone was impressed, and I was impressed that they made a point to show every Canadian jump on Chinese news. I had already screamed the news of the medal to my friends the night before, so they knew but they got to see the jumps for the first time. Told them it was like South Africa winning a curling medal or GB winning a hockey medal. Unbelievable.
  5. Came here to suggest this. They've improves since Tokyo, now you can simply click on "watch replays" at the top of their main page and get to the videos without scrolling through spoilers. cbc.ca/olympics (have to be in Canada, but free from there).
  6. Just to note, Gu is on almost every commercial now. Look forward to seeing her face on every billboard in a day or two. Good for her. Get your coins, girl!
  7. Man, if he didn't have that one miss... But still a phenomenal performance.
  8. On paper Canada was the best team here. That paper was burned in a big fire a few days ago. Sweden wouldn't even be here if Canada didn't choke multiple times.
  9. Wow, this is looking like powerhouse Australia dominating underdog Canada a couple of days ago.
  10. Canada's Farrell's time was 3rd fastest this round. She would have won against anyone but Ulbing and Ledecka. Oh well, that's the name of the game.
  11. Frustrating, Farrell's time in PGS would have given her a win in every heat besides her own or against Ledecka. 3rd fastest time, gone so soon.
  12. 1. Short Track Mixed Relay (though technically 6th due to penalty) 2. Snowboard W Slopestyle 3. Figure Skating Team Event 4. Alpine Skiing M Downhill 5. Freestyle Skiing W Big Air The good news is that our curlers didn't even give themselves a chance to finish 4th. So far 4ths almost matching total medals. Don't worry, still a good chance to get another 4th in speed skating tonight! Still can't complain, especially after ski jumping.
  13. Canada gets a ski jumping medal, undefeated in their World Cup qualifying group, just went to the Opening Ceremonies, Habs made the Cup Finals. Sometimes I think I bumped my head in January 2020 and I'm really just laying in a hospital unconscious somewhere.
  14. By the way, now the only sport Canada has not medaled in is Nordic Combined. YET.
  15. I'm worried about the rest of the competition. It's pretty obvious what's going on, and I just want real races.
  16. Now the only sport Canada hasn't medaled in is Nordic Combined. Which is coming up later this week! (Hey, anything's possible apparently!)
