  1. looks like we are going to start the Asian Games without a website ! that's new. I can't remember if it happened before. don't know if I have a match tomorrow or not. maybe something in beach volleyball ?
  2. I can't think of another answer of course there are always an "explanation". faking documents etc. Qatar did that for years and have lots of foreign players in its basketball NT (while only 1 is allowed) until at some point in 2011 FIBA intervened and disqualified half of their team
  3. and they probably cheat a lot because you can't hire more than 1 wrestler per style in one year. but they have a full team of Russians. how they managed to hire them at the same time ?
  4. Sadulaev losing like that is last thing you can expect ! he was dead tired OK our 97kg is out too. what a terrible day . we will most probably end up with only 3 quotas. Bahrain is going to win a world title. years of hard work paid off (or hire a mercenary)
  5. that's unbelievable. losing to a guy you can beat 10-0. stupid strategy when we know we are weak in defense . another match we lost in last 10 seconds
  6. he is an average American wrestler , he is good but not that good. he was close to win the bronze last year if I'm not wrong but I don't think he can beat Tevanyan
  7. he is surely an upgrade comparing to that piece of crap Martinetti (who was as corrupt as Tamas Ajan) there are some improvements, and I can give him credit for that. the officiating is better in general. but there are still lots of problems. for example everybody know 2019 World Championship draw was rigged by the host nation, they fixed that problem but never acknowledged it, there are still some other ways to cheat, I'm not going to tell more because I have no proof
  8. The German is a tough guy, very hard to score on. from what I heard he won 2-0. which means 2 cautions probably Magomedov is a very good wrestler. so indeed surprising I'm not sure but looks the semifinals in Olypic weights are something like this 65kg Iran vs Hungary Armenia vs Puerto Rico 97kg Bahrain vs Russia/AIN Germany vs Georgia
  9. apparently he won. but UWW site sucks and has no update and I was too excited during our own match and I forgot to watch other mats.
  10. Goleij made a mistake. he had to take 1-2 steps back instead of facing Sadualev. there is a reason he is called "the tank" he is as strong as a tank. he wins these kind of positions 99 out of 100. but it's easier said than done, under that pressure your brain doesn't work properly. Goleij has a history of losing like that. he lost 2 years ago to Snyder despite leading 2-1 with less than 5 seconds on the clock
  11. yep he was in Sydney too. not a great wrestler in his time. he is the head coach for the whole team but sometimes he sits in the corner to coach himself too. (I think only for Yazdani and Goleij) that's Magomed Isagadzhiev, 2002 World Silver medalist, one of the few people in the world who beat the great Saitiev. yes this is the first time ever to have a Russian coach. (or a foreign coach at all) as assistant though.
  12. Pejman Dorostkar, 4th place World 1998 (the 2nd coach is a Russian, and yes we have a Russian coach this time !!!)
  13. wow, just wow Goleij was 15 seconds away from beating the best wrestler of all time. f..ing 15 seconds and then that happened , the Russian Tank did what he always does. he has only 1 or 2 defeats in his entire career and after so many years he was an inch away from a defeat. now with Snyder out of the picture I hope Goleij can take the bronze and the quota at least. Amouzad also gave us a scare, a heart attack even. was leading 7-0 comfortably and then bang, he almost got pinned, hopefully he learns from this and dominate the "new" Musukaev like what he did last year. he is our last chance for another gold
  14. it's hard to stay calm after these kind of officiating, fortunately Olympic well be held somewhere else and not in Lalovic's house.
  15. that means 81kg will be pretty weak in Hangzhou, no China, and no Rahmat Erwin but unfortunately our guy was terrible at the world champion, so it doesn't matter we are not going to win that gold btw the competition unofficially starts in something like 30-35 hours and still no results/schedule section. booo
  16. tough question our TV commentator went crazy with that call and some people still think Yazdani got robbed of a gold medal with that call but if you ask me, those kind of situations are tricky, that was a 50/50 call, I wish they would called in our favor but I understand why they didn't. I would probably do the same if I was the judge. so in short, to me that was correct but 4pts for Yazdani was also correct too. they have to make rules more clear for situations like this. btw just to tell you guys how important Yazdani is here. when our 125kg guy Zare won the gold in a dominant fashion and left the mat, the first question Iranian journalists asked him in the mixed zone was "what do you think about that call in Yazdani's match?" imagine winning a world title and the first thinh you are asked about is someone else's match!
  17. the last quota also goes to Kurbanov , with a 8-3 win. as the UWW commentator said, he "won" the quota but has to wait for IOC's final decision
  18. since I'm not sure UWW's result system software post the results let me tell you that Shapiev (UZB) wins 3-1 and gets the last 86kg quota, 3 for Asia, 1 for Europe and 1 for America
  19. Yazdani's defeat was really sad but expeceted. he is a 9 time World and Silver medalist but he just can't beat this Taylor guy but Zare saved the day by his dominating gold medal. at least we are guaranteed to not leave this competition withtout a gold medal. now time for 5th place matches
  20. I think it's very simple, wherever AIN athletes participate in direct qualification events and "win" a quota. that quota will be on standby pending IOC's final decision actually it's IOC's fault, not UWW. and I'm 100% sure they wouldn't do a thing without consulting with the IOC. IOC is fully aware of everything. they just have to make their mind about this. Yes or No.
  21. as @ChandlerMne said there will be a 5th place match at the end of the day, I mean after the medal ceremonies
  22. no Man Asaad was in Group D and just participated in weight-in without lifting a thing he is either injured or saving himself for the Asian Games, same as Djangabaev. I know Asian Games matters a lot for most of Asian countries (including us) but still it's not a good sign for a sport when people prefer an Asian Games title over a World title ! (and yes I know it's about prize moneys too)
  23. 4 defeats and we have nobody in the semifinals 57 and 75 defeats were execpted but really disappointed with 79 and 92kg defeats, Nokhodi simply fell into the Russian's trap. when you are facing a Russian you have to push from the start because if you are leading by 1 point there is 90% chance that you lose the match. they know how to score in the last 30 seconds and Azarpira was a total disaster, he lost despite leading 9-4 at some point. 3 of 4 semifinalists lost so many times to our 2nd/3rd tier wrestlers in past couple of years speaking of Olympic weights, Emami did nothing special against Sidakov, losing 6-0. Sidakov almost lost his 1st match but he is a snake, he always finds a way to win. I think he will beat Bayramov in SF easily but still it will be a long road ahead in the repechage for Emami. 57kg was a different story, we gave up on our so-called experienced wrestlers and sent a 18 years nobody kid instead. surprisingly he won 2 matches before losing to the defending champion Abakarov. I hope Aba makes to the final and brings back our kid to the repechage but even in that case he has to beat Aman good day for Azerbaijan, they have 3 in the semifinal. USA also received 3 defeats and even Kyle Dake barely survived in his matches. but star of the day was Kougioumtsidis, beating Kadi and Salkazanov also Micic surprised everybody by beating the Olympic Champ Uguev
  24. back to back surprises at 74kg Chamizo is out, so is Kadimagomedov !
  25. as said above we don't know that yet but I watched UWW commentators during the afternoon session and they never said anything about AIN wrestlers not being eligible to qualify. I will pay more attention tomorrow during the finals to see if they say anything about it. personally I think they won't get the quota for now but that will be reserved for them until IOC takes the final decision in this matter. they have plenty of time before the continental qualifiers to do that.
