Geraei senior has a history of losing to unknown Japanese wrestlers. he lost the Olympic bronze to a guy even weaker than this one. I gave up on him long time ago. he can beat anybody but in a tournament like this with 4-5 matches before the final. he always finds someone to lose to, unfortunately we don't have a better wrestler in this weight the moment. (77 and 87 are our weak links) he should be kicked out 2 years ago.

IRIB3 and IRIB-Varzesh even though it's not like they show wrestling 24/7 . lots of talking between matches. mostly focus on Iranian matches only. I also have access to Tajikistan TV-Varzish which showed a great deal of this tournament so far

looks like China is going to win all Rowing gold medals. in past there was a rule limiting each country to something like 10 boats (out of 14 or 15) but they removed that this time. (I believe China is a bit vulnerable in Single Sculls events, so maybe they won't win 100% of the gold medals)

it's really sad to see our World Champion had to wrestle in this 5th place match. he should be on that gold medal podium. but OK at least he won the quota after an easy 10-0 win. 65kg quotas are: 3 quotas is the least we could expect here. but that's OK. we still have two more chances to have a full team. and we seriously need to change something. all of our wins were something like 10-0 but we lost almost all close matches. there is something wrong we have to fix. it's not normal to lose lots of close matches in last 30 seconds. I believe our Greco team is better prepared but Greco in general is much tougher.

Tazhudinov is just amazing. speechless of course Sadulaev was just 1% of himself but still beating Snyder 10-0 and pinning a giant like Magomedov like that is wow Bahrain know shit about wrestling. they just randomly bought this kid and he turned out an amazing wrestler.

only Iranians can dominate a match but still end up losing it what he hell was that. the Russian was on the back foot for the entire 6 minutes. 4 defeats in a row against the Russians and all of those matches (maybe except 74kg) were winnable. just with a better strategy and with using that f..ing brain. most of our guys panic and don't think at all when they are down against RUS/USA.

indeed he was impressive before but to be honest I never expected him to perform like this one weight down. it's really tough to cut 5kg and stay strong. most wrestlers gas badly when they cut (like our 92kg here) but it was the opposite for Kougioumtsidis he won 3 of his matches in the last minute. it didn't turn out to be a bad decision. Kurugliev (if he makes it to Paris) will be a medal favorite for sure. but 74kg is indeed much tougher than 86kg with lots of favorites. Kougioumtsidis had to go through a very hard draw, by beating Kadimagomedov and Salkazanov he really deserved the quota more than Bayramov (who is also a very good wrestler). he got lucky at the end with that singlet grab caution (which disqualified Bayramov with 3 cautions) but he deserved a bit of luck after beating those 2 guys.

Olympic Champs Otoguro and Sadulaev didn't particiapte in weight-in today I was sure the Russian tank is too proud to wrestle for the bronze specially when he knows he is not ready and will lose to his arch rival therefore everybody in 97kg top 6 is already qualified which means

this is how R. Amouzad got robbed of a very probable gold medal. that's a very clear singlet grab by Musukaev before he scores the last takedown. it happened too fast maybe the ref didn't see it. Russian wrestlers have these dirty tricks and only very experienced refs can catch them cheating. Amouzad has to blame himself for that stupid challenge in the first period (he insisted on it even when the coach said no) it was a very easy call if they still had the challenge option. I hope he mentally recovers and win the bronze/quota tomorrow. I believe he is still the #1 in the world in this weight. he just needs to be less dumb sometimes

what a dramatic win for Kougioumtsidis coming back from being down 8-0 74kg quotas: @Makedonas congrats, to me he was the biggest surprise of this competition.

I don't think he will, he doesn't care about the quota , he can win it whenever he wants. I don't think he wrestles unless he is sure he can beat his archrival Snyder in the bronze medal match. he has a day to recover but knowing his mentality, I don't think so unless Russian coaches forces/begs him to do so. yeah that was bad luck for Goleij, he lost and also made Sadulaev very tired (eventually losing the next match) but I'm not much worried about 74kg and 97kg quotas. not much competition in Asia in these weights. I believe we will qualify eventually one way or another but of course it's always better to finish the job here, at the World Championship.

and the match indeed lived up to expectations, what a match and Sidakov won after a dramatic last second failed challenge. well technically not failed but still 2-2 wasn't enough for Dake.

this can be the biggest match of the tournament Dake vs Sidakov interestingly they never wrestled until today, until right now

can't wait to watch Micic wrestling outside of Belgrade kind of interesting that since 2021 he never wrestled at 57kg outside of Belgrade. for the Europeans he wrestled at 65kg. and not even 61kg . there are some rumors since last year. we will know in Paris if they are correct or not. of course it's hard to believe (and honestly I still can't believe them myself) but you can see things with your own eyes when someone looks much bigger than the other guy. btw at least I was correct so far about 57kg quotas prediction 4 out 4 and if Uguev wins 5 out 5 . at least one correct prediction where the rest of my predictions were totally off

well, this 92kg Kazakh guy who won the gold, lost a month ago in the World Junior Championship final to one of our guys, yet we sent someone else who was pathetic speaking of not sending the right guy (our #1 at 92kg who was the defending champion got injured and we had to send someone else, they just picked someone from 97kg making him cut weight, instead of sending our #2 in 92kg who was the same person who won the World Junior title) we could easily won both 79kg and 92kg golds but lost to our own stupid mistakes

I don't think so, he was just very tired, and his previous match against our guy drained his energy completely. he is still a great wrestler, but if you don't train properly you can't wrestle back to back matches, your body won't let you.

looks like we are going to start the Asian Games without a website ! that's new. I can't remember if it happened before. don't know if I have a match tomorrow or not. maybe something in beach volleyball ?

I can't think of another answer of course there are always an "explanation". faking documents etc. Qatar did that for years and have lots of foreign players in its basketball NT (while only 1 is allowed) until at some point in 2011 FIBA intervened and disqualified half of their team

and they probably cheat a lot because you can't hire more than 1 wrestler per style in one year. but they have a full team of Russians. how they managed to hire them at the same time ?

Sadulaev losing like that is last thing you can expect ! he was dead tired OK our 97kg is out too. what a terrible day . we will most probably end up with only 3 quotas. Bahrain is going to win a world title. years of hard work paid off (or hire a mercenary)
