  1. whoever loses to the gold medalist in quarterfinal will be considered as 5th placer and so on !
  2. Again the same stupid live scoring system, if you miss a match , you have to wait till the end of the session (or even the day) to have the result in PDF ! I highly doubt we can win a quota here. but Golara won his first bout against Tunisia. btw when I look at the schedule I can't see matches for 5th placers. I wonder how they are going to determine the 5th placers ?! using the same format as 2012 ?!!
  3. here is the new medal distribution if IWF/IOC officially disqualify all of them Aukhadov (Silver 85) Rostami (IRN) Bronze ==> Silver Yehia (EGY) 4th ==> Bronze Ilyin (Gold 94) Ivanov (RUS) Silver ==> Gold Ciricu (MDA) Bronze ==> Silver Demanov (RUS) 4th ==> Bronze Chinshanlo (Gold 53) Hsu (TPE) Silver ==> Gold Iovu (MDA) Bronze ==> Silver Febrianti (INA) 4th ==> Bronze Kalina (Bronze 58) Gulnoi (THA) 4th ==> Bronze Maneza (Gold 63) Tsarukaeva (RUS) Silver ==> Gold Girard (CAN) Bronze ==> Silver Simsek (TUR) 4th ==> Bronze Shkermankova (Bronze 69) Nurmukhambetova (KAZ) 5th ==> Bronze Podobedova (Gold 75) Zabolotnaya (RUS) Silver ==> Gold Kulesha (BLR) Bronze ==> Silver Valentin (ESP) 4th ==> Bronze * Some of these athletes who are supposed to get a better medal later tested positive for doping. so I have a feeling IOC/IWF will leave some (or even all) of those medals blank and won't give them to anybody.
  4. now it's official, fortunately no Iranians are among them The IWF reports that as a consequence of the IOC’s reanalyses of samples from the 2012 London Olympic Games, the samples of the following Athletes have returned Adverse Analytical Findings: AUKHADOV, Apti (RUS) – Dehydrochloromethyltestosterone, Drostanolone (S1.1 Anabolic agents) KOSTOVA, Boyanka (AZE) – Dehydrochloromethyltestosterone, Stanozolol (S1.1 Anabolic agents) PODOBEDOVA, Svetlana (KAZ) – Stanozolol (S1.1 Anabolic agents) SAZANAVETS, Dzina (BLR) – Drostanolone, Stanozolol (S1.1 Anabolic agents) SHKERMANKOVA, Maryna (BLR) – Dehydrochloromethyltestosterone, Stanozolol (S1.1 Anabolic agents) KALINA, Yuliya (UKR) – Dehydrochloromethyltestosterone (S1.1 Anabolic agents) ZHARNASEK, Yauheni (BLR) – Dehydrochloromethytestosterone, Stanozolol, Oxandrolone (S1.1 Anabolic agents) MANEZA, Maiya (KAZ) – Stanozolol (S1.1 Anabolic agents) ILYIN, Ilya (KAZ) – Dehydrochloromethyltestosterone, Stanozolol (S1.1 Anabolic agents) CHINSHANLO, Zulfiya (KAZ) – Oxandrolone, Stanozolol (S1.1 Anabolic agents)
  5. lol feel free to ask whenever you want The answer is A. his 205kg in snatch was surprising for me and he did it quite easily, but in CJ he just didn't push himself , his knee is still recovering and if you watch the video he simply didn't try his usual "Jerk" technique, he tried "squat jerk" which is really hard in heavier weights, he just didn't want to risk his knee right now. I think if he wanted he could Jerk 240 that day , 445-450 is a very good result for him right now and if he improves with the same rate I consider him a favorite even for the gold. to be honest I didn't expect him to be that good . 430 is a low record but as I said he could life 20kg more if he wanted to risk his knee.
  6. IWF has a new rule, they just removed life time ban from their rules, now you will get 8 years ban for the 2nd time. they just convinced IWF to apply this new rule to the old case of Alihosseini. I hope he comes back soon, as far as I know he was innocent in both cases. he deserves a world or olympic medal after all.
  7. IWF didn't announce them innocent, as I wrote in my first post, they only finalized 11 out of 24 cases. they only finalized cases about few countries with one exception Lovchev, which means his case is a bit complicated. for other counrtires like Kazakhstan, Moldova, Belarus and North Korea for reasons we don't know it takes too long.
  8. This is the new rule, nobody gets a life ban, 4 years for the first time, 8 years for the second time ! (no idea about the 3rd time )
  9. Kostova wasn't in original list. this is only about positive tests from 2015 worlds, I think her sample is suspicious for another event lol The remaning 13 weightlifters are mostly from Kazakhstan, Belarus, North Korea and Moldova (plus Lovchev of Russia and a guy from KSA)
  10. Finally after MONTHS, IWF announced final decision about 10 more positive tests from 2015 World Championship, if we count the Turkmenistani guy who received his ban before, now 11 out of 24 cases are closed interestingly while they banned 3 other Russian weightlifters, still nothing about Lovchev ?! 11. I know it doesn't make sense but actually IWF was a part of this "administrative mistake" , they had to let him participate to avoid another story. they also let Rybakov participate in Asia because he missed the European because of meldonium , later they said he was innocent and instead let him participate in Asia
  12. lol I just wrote they hosted a tournament only because of him. he will go to Rio for sure unless he gets injured or something. he had some super crazy results in training, he just didn't participate anywhere to make those results official, in Iran Grand Prix , he came up only twice (1 in snatch and 1 in CJ) and finished with 400 which is enough for a medal. he can even go for 420 . Iran has chance for only 3 gold medals in Rio in weightlifting (actually 2 since Salimi is still injured) they can't afford losing one.
  13. well that was obvious when he didn't participate in World Championship in Houston (in USA where they are serious about doping) to compete in President Cup in Moscow to break World Record ! it doesn't make sense at all unless you have something to hide.
  14. This guy was banned for doping till October/November 2015 and because of some administrative mistakes (they wrongly announced him "retired" to WADA) he had to stay out of weightlifting until few days ago. and per IWF rules you have to compete in two tournaments to be eligible for Rio, that's why he is here, Ajan himself invited him. Actually Iran hosted a Grand Prix few days only and only because of him. he is a gold medal contender. btw we had Belarus in Asian Championship.
  15. It was supposed to be like that but they made a change few months ago.
  16. no, Best Asian team + top 3. which means simply top 4 btw, Didn't really enjoy the way our team played here in this tournament but YEAH we finally made it to the Olympics in Volleyball !
  17. and again according to Tamas Ajan one of those 10 doped weightlifters in London is from Iran (never thought one of our athletes can do drugs in this level that IOC can't find it at time !!!) we had 6 in London, Salimi, Rostami and Moradi just competed in Fajr Cup , which means they are clean, Anoushiravani who won silver in London is now head coach of the team and since he still has his job this is not him either, which means it will be either Nasirshalal (silver medalist 105kg) or Mohammadpour (5th place 94kg) and I can guess this is Nasirshalal which means we will probably lose a silver medal
  18. Kianoush Rostami just broke the oldest world record in Fajr Cup in Tehran , with 175+220=395 he broke both CJ and total records at 85kg.
  19. here is the link to the whole Interview which is obviously in Persian http://www.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=13950310001330
  20. apparently not the whole competition but some weight classes. but you never can be sure about these things in Iran Check these 2 links in time of the Group A competitions http://www.telewebion.com/#!/live/tv3/ http://www.telewebion.com/#!/live/varzesh/
  21. Tamas Ajan (IWF president) is in Iran right now for Iran Grand Prix, he had a little chat with Iranian journalists and according to him 20 weightlifters tested positive in IOC new re-testing, 10 from Beijing and 10 from London, including 5 gold medalists ! (1 Beijing, 4 London)
  22. oh yeah, thanks god someone else also remembers that dirty match, Asbaghi was leading by a big margin and this Achab guy (knowing he can't catch Asbaghi) tried his dirty tricks giving Asbaghi 9 cautions, one more was enough for disqualification. Asbaghi managed to survive that match though but poor guy he missed most of 2015 because of a surgery and therefore finished 7th in world ranking and missed the Olympics Achab uses his dirty tactics very often , I saw him doing it more than ten times. specially against good opponents. but that one against Asbaghi was something unbelievable.
  23. well, you can't ignore him but all of his achievements were in 63kg, and not the Olympic wight of 68 ! he only qualified by points he collected in 63kg events, he is a very dirty fighter, very disgusting. ALWAYS try to show fake injuries and give penalties to his opponents. I don't follow this weight as much as the rest (since Iran didn't qualify narrowly) but I think Lee Dae-hoon is top favorite here, with Tazegul and Denisenko behind him. I think the real competition in this weight will be between those 6 who qualified through ranking. I think considering him among 4-5 favorites is more logical even though I don't give him so much chance for gold.
  24. He is really tall and dangerous, he has chance for medal, actually this weight is more unpredictable among men's weights, there are something like 8=9 guys with good chances for medal. Silla is one of them. his height is his biggest advantage. but watch out for this guy from Niger is probably the biggest treat in this weight. I'm glad our Mardani won't face him in early rounds. (msot probably he has to face Kazakhstan)
