but what if the nation is banned kaz , rus and blr ? What will that mean .................. ? ......they had banned BUL , they lost their place , surely if KAZ , RUS and BLR lose their ranking the whole ranking should be pushed up ?

Vivek you seem to be fluctuating between over optimistic and pessimistic .............. we have 2 boxers who need 1 bout to reach and 2 boxers who need 2 bouts to qualify ....... I feel a reasonable total of boxers qualifying would be 2 boxers which I feel is a decent estimate ............... similarly I saw comments from people that we would have no athletes more and we would have 13 athletes............... I feel a reasonable total would be 7-10 new atheletes including relay team which will be 5 ( five ) ....... by the way if you qualify a relay team you get 5 quotas ( not 4 like I was reading in many posts )

Boxing prelims at Baku - Indian status 48 kg - devendro reaches quarters has to win two more bouts to qualify 64 Kgs - Manoj in the round of 16 ( won a good fight against 2nd seeded egy in the round of 32 ) has to win two bouts to qualify .....he has defeated the seeded player but will probably face a tough BUL boxer but he has the possibility to beat him 75 Kgs - Vikas faces JPN boxer in the round of 32 today...has to win 3 bouts to qualify 81 Kgs sumit sangwan is in the round of 16 having won two bouts - including defeating 8 seed from colombia ......... has to win 2 bouts to qualify Satish a bit unlucky as he was on even points at the end of round 2 , but the bout was stopped due to a cut he got ,,,,,,,,,,he had a good chance to reach the quarters I would love to see Vikas's form but if he is in form he should make it ....................... from the rest 1/3 I feel is a reasonable expectation ............... I had made a predication that we will have 2 qualifiers and would like to stick to it ( provided Vikas is in form )

@Vivek 4*400 women has a good chance even if they do not improve - Not safe by any chance 4*400 men has to have another run close to / or improve the score they made earlier this month if they are to be in with a chance , currently they are not even in the top 24 as the average of two runs is taken ..................

I think we do much better with sportspeople at the head ...currently we have a few Raninder Singh - President heading the NRAI - he was a world class shooter and recently he won the Trap competition at the National Adil sumariwalla - President heading AFI - Olympic runner 1980- Indian record holder 100m forsome time are there any other ??? ......... I think these two are the better federations ( see the results of quotas )

yes....... but in the last two major tournaments we did defeat them while we lost to BEL in the last two tournaments major tournaments and we drew with Germany in the last two tournaments which is like a peculiar pattern

I am waiting to see the world hockey rankings which should be updated after this tournament .... what I can see is that most probably India will be at 5th overtaking Belgium and Arg ............... The difference between NED( 2) and GER( 3) with GBR at 4th will be reduced even further while australia increases its margins .... the points will be a perfect illustration of what i said above in the last post

yes I currently feel Australia is ahead clearly Then India , Germany, GBR , Belgium , ARG and NED are in a close group in second position and anyone can beat anyone in any situation with peculiar patterns like India loses to bel often but beats GB most often so the quarters are going to be a any ones game who reaches the semis ( for India in the group the only thing may avoid lowest place as you may face AUS then int he QTRs ) ............... The rest of 12 like IRL , CAN , SPN , NZL , BRA will make up the numbers only and one may make the quarters ....................

we actually have rested 3 players for this tournament - Sardar , striker - ramandeep , Drag flicker and defender Rupinderpal ,,,and ,Lakra was out due to injury ................definately when they come back the indian hockey team will be further strengthened ........................ dreaming of a RIO medal in hockey ... after the bronze in the world league , a silver here showed that they have it in them to match any side, especially the ball possession and the full time 0-0 score - shows that India could have won even against australia

awesome just 3 kg below his own record in the 77 kg category ...this would be around 12-15 best in the world in 2015 ........which is great score ...... I am sure he can try to cross 340 in the olympics which if he does means he can come in the top 10 which for mens weightlifting would be a great result ....................any news on how vikas thakur did in the 85 I felt he was doing very well too
