I have started this new national thread with Sindo's permission because the other one had a lot of clutter with no clear direction, and I wanted to have control since I am the most regular United States poster on here.

I saw that article, and I've also seen several rebuttals to it from other black people who have been talking about how the game has smoothed tensions in volatile areas.

I don't actually play Pokémon Go, but I think it's a great concept. It gets people outside and exercising and also makes them interact with others. It's been amazing in the USA, especially with some of the racial tensions we have going on here.

Athletics is the event I am most looking forward to as there are 15 athletes from my university that qualified (some in countries other than the USA) including two that I know personally (Jarrion Lawson - long jump and Lexi Weeks - pole vault)!
