  1. Paris 2024 was the 4th Games (Sommer+Winter) where i did not care about the medal table. And enjoyed the Games and sport very much. (well Eurosport, Max, DiscoverPlus (branding may vary by region) has destroyed it for me by showing the medal table at pauses in the broadcast.) It weird concept to me, summing medals from team and individual sports, sports with a lot of same-but-little-different events or lot of different weight classes etc. Yeah, a lot of people don't care about sport, games, about the athletes, about the competition, but just care about a number in a table. There is a plenty of statistic on the world ranking countries - why not interested about that?
  2. To makes the Games more youth and urban, because all the kids and teens are listing Snoop Dog...
  3. No! Leon! NO! Leave the flame there!
  4. Not really a 'moment', but it is great that every session i saw the stands was full and the crowd was there. After the 'silent games' it is great to have all the fans! Great atmosphere. I like the new ritual of opening of every session by hitting three times with wooden staff - i think you know what i mean. Men's Volleyball QF vs was the most thrilling and positive moment for oblivious reasons. And also, the fight in the semi-final after being behind and having serious injuries. I think the Korean archery coach is really cool. (Playing "Gangsta's Paradise" for presentatnion of the archers and coaches was just perfect!) Speaking of archery: men's individual final Kim vs. Ellison and the 5th set tied after both achieving 10-10-10 and the shoot-off (where both shoot 10s, too). C'mon it was just the peak of the archery level you can achieve and this in the Olympic final!
  5. Between the last match and medal ceremony there were broadcasting 5 Best (the longest? ) Rallies: vs , vs , vs , vs and vs .
  6. Geraint Thomas collected all the podim places - how many riders achive that?
  7. Thomas Bach (Olympic Champion, Fencing) spotted next to the podium.
  8. Stage 1 - F. Ganna (4) Stage 2 - too late (176) Stage 3 - F. Jakobsen (5) Stage 4 - P. Sagan (5) Stage 5 - W. Van Aert (16) Stage 6 - D. Teuns (6) Stage 7 - T. 11. I know computer games are not sports, but there are bans for faking the world record too. https://www.theverge.com/2022/7/6/23196836/summer-games-done-quick-cheating-metal-gear-rising-revengeance

  13. Kämna in yellow! Virtually. UAE give up or just save energy of decimated team.
  14. Also wearing face mask. Pogačar have to watch out not to be positive in few days. I know they are sleeping alone, but what about eating, team bus rides or team briefing? I don't belive they did it without any contact. BTW. Kämna is in breakaway today, yeah!
  15. So the methodology is just some survey of random people living in one city and having no comparsion about others? (nothing against Edinburgh)
  16. Stage 1 - F. Ganna (4) Stage 2 - too late (176) Stage 3 - F. Jakobsen (5) Stage 4 - P. Sagan (5) Stage 5 - W. Van Aert (16) Stage 6 - D. Teuns (6) Stage 7 - T. Pogačar (1) Stage 8 - M.Matthews (2) Stage 9 - B. Jungels (1) [=216] Stage 10 - L. Kämna

Stage 8 - M.Matthews Coivd strikes back: UAE Team! Chruis Froome being 41st yesterday - it's his best result since 2018. Also yesterday German Eurosport commentator said Roglic is Slovak.
  19. So podium in Paris should looks like: 1. Pogačar 2. Vingegaard 3. Thomas
  20. Stage 1 - F. Ganna (4) Stage 2 - too late (176) Stage 3 - F. Jakobsen (5) Stage 4 - P. Sagan (5) Stage 5 - W. Van Aert (16) Stage 6 - D. Teuns (6) Stage 7 - T. Pogačar
  21. Stage 1 - F. Ganna (4) Stage 2 - too late (176) Stage 3 - F. Jakobsen (5) Stage 4 - P. Sagan (5) Stage 5 - W.Van Aert (16) Stage 6 - D. Teuns
  22. Jumbo BikeExchange So much action on the stage. Crashes & defects. Pogačar attacing but at the end it doesnt event matter. Pogačar made only 13s. Van Aert saves Vingegaard, his jersey and a bunch of other riders like Thomas (btw. Ineos had a lot of good riders for the cobbelstones, but at the end they leaders were mostly alone). Stage 5 - W.Van Aert - could I have extra points for him beeing MVP of the stage? :D DNF: GOGL Michael HAIG Jack Also TVmoto hit the hay bale and caused a massive crash.
  23. Stage 1 - F. Ganna (4) Stage 2 - too late (176) Stage 3 - F. Jakobsen (5) Stage 4 - P. Sagan (5) Stage 5 - W.Van Aert
  24. Some memes from today: Philipsen was just happy with his place! :D
