I think womens biathlon relay was one of the top 5 worst scandals in olympic history. 3 strange decision this season after the foggy mens relay earlier and the missed disaqualification for the italian mixed relay, would be interesting who was resposible for this ...

I just saw that i bet 1 point on NO for this particular question, i actually wanted to bet 10 points on it but forgot the 0, i also wanted to bet 1 instead of 10 points on Canada not finishing ahead of USA in the medal table, could we maybe change those predictions? In Sochi you couldnt expect much more, Germany was shit in biathlon, skeleton, ski jumping and so on. Now you had to expect Germany to win the medal table, but then almost everything went wrong (no gold for Rebensburg, Loch, Lölling, womens biathlon relay, mixed biathlon relay + injuries of Zimmermann, Luitz, Neureuther, Zacher). I mean, could you show me any other nation that lost 4 huge medal contenders before the start of the games?

Yeah, but thats not how it works. Norway will still win of course, incredible that Germany will finish second despite having the worst winter olympics ever, so many missed golds + so many injured athletes ...

What a horrible result, this is insanity. The two best athletes in the world without a medal ... what a fitting result to those olympics. Edit: 10 easy points for the bet contest though ... thanks to whoever came up with the question!

Congratulations, not good for my predictions, but glad to see Hungary finally winning gold after the disappointing loss by Swaney.

Its your opinion that this was one of the best events, of course easy to say when your country isnt involved, for me noone who likes fair sport could have really liked it. It wasnt a mistake to not put Dahlmeier first, but it was to not put Hinz first like in basically all the world cups that Germany won. I think the best athletes/teams should get rewarded at the olympics, it clearly didnt happen today so i could never be happy about this result. I said the same about many other events where it wasnt about Germany, but i guess people will still say that i am only saying that because Germany didnt win ... Of course people will say that this had nothing to do with the conditions, but for me a nation that won 7 of the last 8 world cups, not even coming close to a medal here, in an event that isnt very competitive leaves only one possible conclusion. Most people here are always happy about results like that because their own nation isnt involved, so its not surprising that most people dont agree, they only care about entertainment and want to see surprising results instead of deserved winners.

I think the conditions were far far better than today, but womens individual had to be postponed due to strong wind. Of course biathlon is not only about clean shooting, but what do you mean with that in this context?

Of course its not surprising that Preuß again (almost) messed up, its not her fault, still the wind played a much more important role. I agree about this being completey shit though, from gold medal favorite in the last two relays to not a single medal. Add the horrible results in skeleton and luge and you get disastrous games for Germany, without even mentioning the result of womens giant slalom.

What does "not like in first 2 races conditions were really good" mean? The best are able to adapt to all conditions, but thats not the point. If the wind is so strong that basically noone finishes with a clean sheet then something is wrong. Wierer going from 1st to 10th to 1st was almost comical.

Yeah, thats also true. Hinz would have been a better decision, still conditions were completely unfair. How many athletes did get through with a clean sheet? Wierer moved from first, to 1 minute back to first again within a couple of minutes, that alone should be proof enough. This race takes place once every four years, obviously officials never did sport at a level like this, otherwise they could have never made such disgusting decisions.

Lol ... Then why are competitions ever postponed or cancelled ... i mean same for everybody. - 50° C? Dont care, maybe some people will freeze to death, but its the same for everybody, so no problem. Of course i know that this discussion makes no sense, because its belarus that won the gold and if this would have been against belarus, you would be saying the complete opposite, so i have no illusion about you changing your opinion. Surprises me every time how people can watch a competition like that and call it fair, when results are completely different than what we have seen for the past couple of years, it only shows that most people on here never did sport at a decent level on their own and therefore have no clue what it feels like to train for so long and then getting robbed by some officials that dont care about fair sport, rather its 99% about nationality. This attitude will never change here, so why even bother to quote me if we both know that you dont care about fairness but only about the nationality of the winner?

So sad that fairness seems to be the least important thing nowadays. Whoever is responsible at IBU will hopefully pay for this. Training 4 years and then having to compete under such conditions is absolutely incredible, probably the responsible person never competed at elite level and doesnt know what that feels like.

On the one hand i think people should be "allowed" to do a sport as long as they enjoy it, on the other hand i dont really think she does herself a favor. If she isnt competitive now, she will be much less competitive in 4 years, of course its also sad that she would be good enough to make the olympics team in every nation except for the Netherlands. I still think this might be a joke of her, i believe it when i see it.

I agree, add the gold in biathlon and its pure madness. Hirscher already has enough, but i am sad for Kristoffersen. Would have preferred Noel on the podium instead of a fluke like Zenhauser.
