Kimberly Garcia won the women's 20km Race Walk with a WR time of 1:12:26. In fact, 12 athletes did better than the previous world record...
Except that the was a mistake in the course and they didn't actually walk for 20km They'll correct for the men's race, which was postponed by 1 hour.
No wonder the times looked strangely fast when I checked yesterday. And I was under the impression the race hadn’t finished yet when I looked up the results yesterday.

Yea this results system is horrible. Worst PAG results system from 2011 onward
Same results system as that used for this year’s Central American and Caribbean Games. I was hoping for something better

Let’s hope they don’t take down the results section two days after the Para Games end

Here’s an article on Maxine Esteban’s switch to the Ivory Coast from June 2023. Basically, she felt ignored by the Philippine Fencing Federation

What’s the story behind the men’s cricket final between India and Afghanistan? I’m reading that it’s been called off on account of the weather and that India has been awarded the gold medal.

In the men’s canoe slalom semifinal, the top eight athletes, limited to one athlete per NOC, advanced to the final. This resulted in the absurd situation where the third place finisher from Japan didn’t advance because his compatriot finished top of the semifinal and a Korean who DNFed made the final as the last of the eight competitors.

Went to sleep last night while the men’s basketball team were down by 18 points 48-30 in the semifinals. Woke up surprised to find that they had won the game 77-76. The men’s team are back in the final for the first time since 1990.

Asian Games: China censors 'Tiananmen' image of athletes hugging
A photo of two Chinese female athletes that made an inadvertent reference to the Tiananmen Square massacre has been censored on Chinese social media.
The race numbers for Lin Yuwei and Wu Yanni form '64' - a common allusion to the incident which happened on June 4.
The athletes had embraced each other after a 100m hurdles race at the Asian Games in which Ms Lin won gold. She was wearing her lane number 6 next to Ms Wu's lane number 4 in the photo.

I think you are referring to the women’s 200 meters butterfly where 16 swimmers swam in the heats and all of them qualified for the semifinals
