This has got to be the worst tournament for the Korean women in ages. Eliminated early in the team recurve and then all three of their archers knocked out of the individual competition at the quarterfinal stage 

Peng Ming-Yang   clocks 48.62 seconds in winning the 400m hurdles final at the Summer Universiade in Chengdu. This qualifies him for the 2024 Summer Olympics.

After two days, Asian countries have won 42 of the 44 gold medals awarded. The only non Asian countries to win gold medals were Hungary and the Czech Republic

But one downside: Some people freaking out when they found out Gaudeamus Igitur is played instead of the Indonesian national anthem  (One even alleged it was Chinese anthem - how great is Sinophobia in this country)

Imagine how much the organisers save by playing just that one song at the medal ceremonies. They don’t have to keep the recordings of over 100 national anthems on hand. Plus they won’t make the mistake of playing the wrong anthem.

Edit: I believe this may also be the lowest number of nations in attendance since 1997.

It could also be because of the crowded sporting calendar. Fencing and swimming are scheduled just after the start of their world championships. Athletics takes place just two weeks before the start of the worlds in Budapest.

At least you still have the Universiade on television. The only sports on the TV in Manila is mostly men’s basketball and women’s volleyball 

Sadly there are no details of the archery competition on the IANSEO website. It’s always easier to follow the competition there 

What’s the story with the US women’s basketball team? When did they pull out of the competition?

The OCA doesn’t know the meaning of cutting back. What can you expect from the only Games that plans for a 32 team soccer tournament for men.

One should think that the results are part of the legacy of the Games at last years this information seems to getting worse or challeging to find (for example: South East Asian Games 2023, Pan American Junior Games 20121, ALBA Games 2023)

The last time there was a decent results system at the Southeast Asian Games was in 2015. I’ll consider it a miracle if we get it when Thailand hosts the Games in 2025.

Two way tie for the bronze medal in the men’s decathlon. Can’t recall the last time there was a tie for a medal in the event.

Were two of the poomsae events in taekwondo counted as non medal events? Earlier today, there were results for both men and women’s individual freestyle poomsae. Now the two events have disappeared from the results system
