  1. Cuba is still in only 4 of the 7 weights for men. Pretty incredible Brazil has all 6 women still in. Colombia has 5/6 Brazil is top for men with 6/7 with the USA on 5/7
  2. First quotas will be decided today (Women's 60kg) Here's how many boxers each nation has remaining in the competition: 12 8 7 5 (!!) 4 3 2 1 2 weights for men (63.5, 71kg) are two wins from a quota. Everyone else is one win from the Olympics
  3. Sure, I found the result. I was just highlighting how poor the results system is.
  4. The results system has the individual scores down here for this boxing bout but hasn’t indicated who won 😂 2-2
  5. Yes, exactly that. For Olympic purposes, the “Road To” page is the one that matters Those who reach the qualifying standard are removed from the rankings (effectively put ahead of those in the rankings in order)
  6. If the EU has to merge, so does NAFTA. Sorry, that’s the rule
  7. It's likely a re-check/re-calibration on earlier results and possible she moved up a spot or two in a race due to someone being excluded (doping).
  8. If you click into an athlete on the UCI ranks, you can see their counting results https://dataride.uci.ch/iframe/RiderRankingDetails/1549446?rankingId=32&groupId=2&momentId=169460&baseRankingTypeId=1&disciplineSeasonId=432&disciplineId=10&categoryId=23&raceTypeId=0&countryId=0&teamId=0
  9. Just to add it's pretty common for some riders to double up on the track and on the road, but individuals don't qualify and while they can compete in both, they can't be added to the quotas secured in either
  10. Track racing is separate and based on countries too So Belgium are likely to qualify in the Madison but it isn't tied to Kopecky. They can choose who they want but no more than 4 can enter in the road race. If Kopecky is one (she will be), then it's on the basis of Belgium qualifying four in the road race, not anything to do with track.
  11. There's no individual qualification for road racing so I'm not sure what you mean by this? Belgium and Poland both have the maximum four based on the world rankings
  12. Sure. There's lots to still be figured out. I don't think anyone can definitively say anything about Russia or Belarus yet (for most sports). The UCI lists them (separately) as ****
  13. Thailand is relatively strong in boxing. They sent a youngish team to the Asian Games and still qualified 4 fighters. I wouldn’t be an expert on them individually but they would all harbour medal hopes
  14. definitely has one spot for women. The results of the final day vaulted is into the top 40
  15. Yeah. They messed up the women’s rankings by using the same criteria as the men. They also missed a couple of nationality transfers too.
  16. The men's is confirmed. Not by UCI yet but there weren't enough points on offer to change 4 spots 3 spots 2 spots with a storming October to leap into 19th place overall
  17. I suffered with a knee too. I was happy to complete the couch to 5k programme by mostly running on grass 5k is my limit though. Any more and the knee swells! Hats off to everyone who can complete a marathon!
  18. FWIW Ireland’s Mia Griffin earned 270 points in the last week, 260 on the last day and means we will leap from “borderline out” to “comfortable one spot” No changes in the men’s
  19. They’ll be published today. The final world tour events in both men’s and women’s finished today
  20. They didn’t score in the second period with 14 men. Taylor was yellow carded in the incident that led to Ireland getting the penalty try. There was 15 minutes left in the game and Ireland were one point behind They didn’t score again. In fact it was NZ who added 3 points in that 10 minutes.
  21. It absolutely was a choke. They had a man advantage for a quarter of the game! Sure, NZ defended superbly, but the game was there to be won by Ireland and, again, couldn’t do it when it was most needed
