  1. Haven’t seen it confirmed elsewhere but the individual quotas were confirmed yesterday for dressage Link As expected (I think!) with reserves listed too
  2. with a very small team too Mens 60m - Israel Olatunde Womens 60m hurdles - Sarah Lavin Womens 400m - Sharlene Mawdsley Womens 1500m - Sarah Healy Womens 4x400m relay team Mawdsley is “pending invitation” but she’ll get that
  3. most federations don’t have unlimited budgets unfortunately, and most swimmers are heavily subsidised by their federations so I think it’s OK if they set their own parameters
  4. I don’t think they’ll ever get involved tbh. As long as they’re clear with the athletes before qualifying begins, that’s all that matters really.
  5. Wiffen, Hafnoui, Short, Finke 4 different continents. 4 outstanding distance swimmers. We could see one of them leave Paris with nothing
  6. We have one man qualified under Swim Ireland’s conditions (Wiffen in distance swimming). Another has the standard but didn’t get it at the Swim Ireland designated events (Tom Fannon in 50m free) but they don’t compete in relays For Tokyo swim Ireland had to adjust their own criteria to accept an invitation
  7. FWIW they have said that they’ll accept any invitations for Paris (unlike Tokyo when they said they wouldn’t but ended up having to to fill the relay team) Theres space for Ferguson and McCusker as not a huge amount of qualifiers world wide
  8. The Ireland men’s 4x100m medley relay has made the final here and qualified for Paris None of the swimmers have qualified individually yet
  9. Was just thinking similar! The 800 was great for the last 400m or so!
  10. Does anybody know what happened Hafnoui this week? If he was ill/injured I’d have assumed he’d have pulled out of the 1500m So strange to see him miles off the pace
  11. First ever medal at the long course world championships We’ve had Olympic, world short course, European (LC + SC) but never a world long course medal
  12. There’ll be some crazy scenes when he wins the 1,500m by 3 seconds later in the week
  13. You can add Daniel Wiffen too as Ireland only accepts times swam at world championship or the Irish Olympic trials. So this is his first qualifying time
  14. Final relay quotas for women’s 4x100 free are decided in a few hours Only 14 squads are entered. Last 4 from 2023 3:40.02 3:41.21 3:41.75 3:41.53 Only Ireland of those are here (without their best free style sprinter). The challengers are I think everyone from Honk Kong (also here) is safe from 2023
  15. Next in line for the 3m mens quotas are I think all 4 are fairly safe
  16. Ireland is not as confident. Their post stated Jake Passmore (17th in qualifying) had a chance of an Olympic spot in tomorrows semi final
  17. The only one I track is the women’s pursuit and I think Japan will get the 10th spot ahead of Poland (as per your table) Great work to see all the projections in one though!
  18. I’m interested to see how Siobhan Haughey goes in the 100m breast. Very strong event
  19. Annoying for small nations that might have to choose between a mixed 4x400 or mens/womens 4x400 though Basically I’m thinking of Ireland here. We’d be top 16 in mixed/womens if it were times only but with a smaller pool they probably won’t have strong enough teams to qualify both in Nassau
  20. To be fair to the ICF, they've been one of the quickest federations in confirming qualifiers after events so you mightn't have long to wait
  21. Aidan is a far superior talent. Dean had a chance at the European Games and lost his first bout. His local IABA organisation have complained but it seems to be on the basis that he's our national champion. That's fair enough but Aidan missed that and they've been training together and under assessment for a while now. It definitely seems like parochial stuff from Dean's team upet he's out rather than anything else. Bigger surprise at 66kg but again Broadhurst had her chance and lost at the Euro games. O'Rourke did beat Grainne Walsh in Poland late last year but on a split decision and O'Rourke hasn't had her shot at the big international tournaments. There are, no doubt, people who are hoping neither qualifies so that some one else (Dean Walsh, Broadhurst etc) gets a chance at the second qualifier. There are several (including those) that are listed as part of the high performance unit for 2024. The only surprise exclusion was Gabriel Dossen but that's a complicated one
  22. Team Ireland Men: Men's Flyweight (51Kg) - Sean Mari Men's Featherweight (57Kg) - Jude Gallagher Men's Light Middle Weight (71Kg) - Aidan Walsh Men's Light Heavyweight (80Kg) - Kelyn Cassidy Men's Heavyweight (92Kg) - Martin McDonagh Women: Women's Flyweight (50Kg) - Daina Moorhouse Women's Featherweight(54Kg) - Jennifer Lehane Women's Welterweight(66Kg) - Grainne Walsh 2021 Olympic medalist Aidan Walsh returns for the first time in a year. At 66kg Grainne Walsh gets the nod ahead of 2022 World Champions Amy Broadhurst (63kg) and Lisa O'Rourke (69kg). Broadhurst lost at the European Games. Kelyn Cassidy should qualify with an average draw. I'd hope Jude Gallagher will too.
  23. It’ll be a second Olympics for some of them. Not many but a few of them went to Rio
