  1. Our selection this year is breaking my heart. I want both Fusedmarc and Kotryna Juodzevičiūtė to go to Kyev
  2. Well, it wouldn't be a battle if our women's team wasn't an utter disappointment. Since we never do well in the relays, I think we'll need a magical sprint at Oslo to take Estonia down. Also, too bad that our men had huge problems with consistency, we really had a chance to qualify with 5
  3. Yeah, it's the middle that makes it very tricky and when you listen to that middle for a long while, you start liking it more
  4. Well, it seems now that it won't be, but still a respectable result and good points for team Lithuania
  5. Woah, Tomas Kaukėnas might get a PB today
  6. 2 rounds later and I am down to 16 songs. Going to take another break before re-listening to them in order to cut to 12 and probably with another break I'll re-listen to the twelve to see if I am content with my votes. My excel file looks like a horrid mess, but it helps to get the job done.
  7. Well, it wouldn't be fair to answer that now, I guess we'll have to wait for the votes in order to find out. Whatever the result will be, I'm still very glad to have Germany back in the game
  8. I actually expected that Lithuania would be more invested in an IBU cup that is being held in Estonia, but we didn't even collect a mixed relay, which means that none of our youth athletes are going to be present here and our fourth relay woman Gabrielė Leščinskaitė is just wasting her time, driving around the world, not starting in a single race, cause we get lapped in every relay at the half way point.
  9. Well, if we don't get any changes in the song selection, then I already have my 12 and 11 points pretty clear and seven countries that'll get points from me seems to be decided already (just don't know the order). Other than that, there are another 15 songs that have a chance to make it. First impressions after listening to all of the songs could be described by one word - bland. Perhaps I'll end up liking the songs more and I'll change my mind, but so far, there are not many great vocalists or brilliant instrumentals that I can stand behind, also it seemed like quite a few countries picked songs without character. Sure, there are songs that will probably get a fair amount of points at the end of the day, but there are so many songs similar to them in the contest alone. It was the first time that I didn't know a single song from the nominated ones, although I knew some of the artists. What was surprising for me is that this year my chart is mostly dominated by countries that usually didn't get votes from me, although I had noticed a tendency that a few countries always did well in my rankings, this year I felt underwhelmed by a few of my favourites. Anyways, I'll re-listen to the songs at the end of the week and perhaps I'll see (hear) them in a different light.
  10. Well, this is fairly late, but what a brilliant Lithuanian Record and 1st indoor gold medal for our country from Airinė Palšytė with 2,01
  11. Team Lithuania exceeded expectations today, because I didn't think we would get into the pursuit with the women, cause they're beyond horrible this season. Kočergina had 36th ski-speed, so that's fairly promissing, too bad she can't climb in the pursuit, cause she is probably the worst shot in the top 60.
  12. The shooting was not miserable, only Poliakova missed three, whilst others missed 2 and 1. It was probably the best race for Slovakian women in a long while, but you're still not satisfied. I think your standards are too high for the women's/men's team to keep up with your demand for results.
  13. Welp, so there's only Makarainen now that can stll hold on to Laura, Gabi looked terrible
  14. I wonder what happened to Marie Dorin-Habert??
  15. So, @Il_qar , @AtleNal707 and @Euphoria are missing from my edition, but I'm VERY glad to see Morocco and Germany back since these are two countries that nearly always scored points from me, so I miss their music PS: Noticed that Spain's back too.
  16. Chandler gave up on these contests long ago, because he didn't like how Montenegro songs didn't score much.
  17. Well, this year was pretty difficult for my selection process, because I actually had a few decent choices. Although I enjoy showing you guys different artists in every contest, I really wanted to share this song. LITHUANIA GJan - Wild
  18. I think it is fair to say that it is, unless it happened somewhere before 2005. The best ever result that I could find previously was 2012 Dzenis Avdic (Youth) 35th in an individual race.
  19. Aaaand our only top 10 chance just missed two targets on the first prone.
  20. Shooting can always be taught, competitive ski-speed doesn't come as easy, so I think that you should look forward to what this girl may show in the future.
  21. Very disciplined shooting from our girls, two missed two times only and one four times. 33rd place, another three athletes in top 60, two were very close to top 60 as well. Shame for the shooting on the men's side, but I believe they can get into the top 40 in the sprint. Anyways, it seems our younger generation is finally being developed professionally and I'm not that disappointed with what we showed today.
  22. It seems that our guys got overwhelmed by the atmosphere of the competition. Usually they miss from 0-1 targets, sometimes 2 on a stop at the range. Now it seems like 2 or 3 is the norm today and that is quite disappointing. Hopefully they'll pull it together before the sprint.
  23. I love German biathletes, but it would still be more fun if Dahlmeier was challenged and honestly, if she'll have no one to challenge her, she will not stick around for too long. If Wierer regains the 2015/16 form, she might have a chance to keep up.
