  3. Think you'll find that atheists, although they arrived late to the party, have comfortably beaten even the most bigoted of believers for mass murder. Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao & Pol Pot have all set records that hopefully will never be broken.
  4. @sindo Could we get an official thread for the World Relays? Lots of info to come over the next couple of days before they start. Where to watch | Guangzhou 25 | World Athletics Relay
  5. World Cup III in this weekend. Semis Friday & Saturday, Finals Sunday. Live on olympics.com
  6. Think that the sport has changed over the last 40 years, and is now much more specialised. Back in ye olden days of the 80s it was absolutely routine for hurdlers to double up at least enough to do a decent 4x100m leg, 200m runners to do a 4x400m, and of course the classic 800m/1500m or 5000m/10000m.
  7. Hayden Wilde has had a training bike crash - sounds pretty chewed up & will miss the early rounds. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/triathlon/articles/c4g2nr1l53qo
  8. Seems that "Ah shit!" is also part of the language of Dante now. 5-4 after 6. But very decent of to concede a very narrow call without wasting time. Oh, classic Mosaner muscle shot! Italy shot for a 4..... Make it! Hugs & tears! 9 4 is final & a 22 Game Major streak for !
  9. Get the prosecco in the fridge and the gelato in the freezer because it looks like you're heading for Gold! 5-1 after 5!
  10. Oi oi oi trouble 4 1 at halfway. Usually it is Jen that gets us into messes, but this time 2 clean misses from The Iceman....
  11. And again with the singles 2 1 after 3.
  12. Here we are for the final - it's Ali vs Foreman or vs . get the hammer but give it up for only 1 so 1-0 after the first. And turn about 1-1.
  13. And that is Bronze for Oz!
  14. Oh dear, get a 4 in the fifth, so the Walking Dead at 2-8 down.
  15. 4 1 after 3 in the Bronze Medal Match. Estonian another language in which the English verb "to sweep" is translated as "sweep".
  16. Proved that shouting after throwing definitely does work.
  17. Textbook hurdling, not a fence grazed!
  18. Duguma not one of your emotionless Ethiopians.
  19. Very good evening overall, I thought. OK, usually problem with too much bread and not enough filling, but pretty much all the races were exciting and close. Whole thing a lot less early-season.
  20. Fred Kerley will be....errrm....a no-show. https://www.letsrun.com/news/2025/05/fred-kerley-arrested-at-meet-hotel-ahead-of-grand-slam-track-miami/
  21. Another sign that Summer is here - the 2025 Speedway Grand Prix starts tomorrow in Landshut . I'm always a fan - one of the very few technical sports where all the athletes get the same generic kit & what matters is the rider & nothing else. https://www.fimspeedway.com/
  22. Good graphic here for the World Relays next weekend, explaining how the Qualifications for Tokyo 2025 work. Day 1 - A round of 4 heats per event, top 2 teams got to the Final and get an Auto Q for Tokyo. Day 2 - 3 Repechages per event, top 2 get the Auto Q. And also the Finals.
  23. Grand Slam Track II from Miami* starts this evening. Grand Slam Track | The new global league by legendary sprinter Michael Johnson * And in a weekend where the Diamond League is nowhere near Shanghai, the GS is actually in Miramar.
  24. Good news is that the Semis & Medal Games are live on Olympics.com tomorrow & Saturday.
  25. Keely Hodgkinson will start her season late - not till the London DL in July. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/articles/cvg7yry9v20o
