    Crazy that there should even have been a debate but I get the impression that all sports in Ireland are governed with simmering cauldrons of ancient rivalries dating back to the cattle-raiding era.

    McIlroy misses his chance for the lead at 16 Åberg three putts & slips two down.

    Åberg sends his first putt at 17 way past the hole will be luck to save par. McIlroy sets up another scoring chance at 16. Big putt for Rose for a 3 at 18 and is home at -11 and an equal lead.
