  1. Rugby sevens start! BBC has the no-nonsense World Feed.
  2. It’s a very smooth start, I remember the broadcasting on day -2 being a terrible mess in Rio, took a while to sort out. Even in Tokyo the commentaries took a while to fix.
  3. It’s not bad actually - drill down for player stats etc.
  4. Yeah, looks about 80% for that game, maybe 60% for the other one.
  5. Language coverage is good - 9 different options for Argentina, 7 for Spain.
  6. Got our first World Feed going! V , that age-old rivalry.
  7. So impatient for things to start I’m even watching a Eurosport documentary about breakdancing.
  8. I guess that is getting added in just as the information becomes available. I notice this morning that the Day 1 Badminton matches are now populated, for example.
  9. Also, I notice that the match-ups in the early badminton draws are now incorporated onto the streams, somebody was asking about that somewhere, can't remember where or when.
  10. One good thing I notice about the Paris 2024 Discovery Plus today. They have a single "Coming up Next" reel, which shows ALL upcoming events, ie all the various sports mixed together, in strictly chronological order. So if you're looking for something live to watch in your coffee break, there you are. BUT the annoying thing is that there is no form of "Click to save to watch later" feature - ie once you decide want to watch the v Rugby Sevens match, you can't just tap on it and put it aside for later, you just have to remember that it started at 14:23 on Friday. Although on PC you can save it as a standard bookmark, doesn't seem to be possible on an Ipad.
  11. Most European countries are running their age-group athletics champs this weekend. Bound to be a few on YouTube.
  12. Cubans object that the Cuban athletes in the refugee team are not really refugees but simply traitors to the motherland who will be sentenced to 10 years in a labour camp if they go back, in accordance with standard international norms. Cuban Olympic Committee demands the immediate exclusion of an athlete from refugee team (msn.com)
  13. Well, as I said for the Rugby Sevens tomorrow it looks like you have the a choice of the drip-feed of individual matches selected via the Discovery portal, or the whole epic all-day single session if you select via the Eurosport 2 portal.
  14. Also, just found this out for myself - if you have an existing Sky Subscription it automatically includes all the Discovery Olympic material as part of the sub. You just have to go through some bureaucratic shenanigans to re-register and to incorporate that sub into whatever Sky device you are using. What's nice is that it looks as though it has automatically cancelled my previous Discovery sub (via Amazon) and brought the two together.
  15. Missed this when it was published a few weeks ago - details of Eurosport's coverage in the UK. 7 additional channels, as discussed, plus names of presenters, experts etc. Olympic heroes set to deliver most comprehensive coverage of Paris 2024 on discovery+ and Eurosport in UK & Ireland - Eurosport
  16. Do you have a sub already? Problem is I don’t think any free VPNs are any good anymore, so you’d need another subscription on top of Discovery. People say Nord VPN is the best, but I’ve personally never used it.
  17. Best option for VPN would probably be the country in which you bought it. But if that doesn't work, this seems to be the official provider in Brazil. How to Watch 2024 Paris Olympics Live in Brazil
  18. BBC's schedule. They are showing the rugby sevens this week, but not any of the football or handball - too big a cut of their 300 hour allowance obviously. Then once the actual competition starts, they're keeping it vague to allow a lot of jumping about from place to place depending on prospects. BBC Sport - Olympics - Next on
  19. As before, the pop-up channels pretty much were dedicated to the big team sports - one each for basketball, football, volleyball, hockey, handball - and didn't show much of anything else. Live events on the day, repeats through the night.
  20. Tennis draws will be made on Friday, I know that.
  21. Better be careful, they might have to pay taxes as well. They’ll be hitch-hiking back to Bratislava.
  22. IOC officials get the choice of staying in the village or in the Hotel Crillon etc. So it's down to the village early in the morning for the photo op, then back to the Rue Rivoli for lunch.
  23. I remember Jonathan Edwards got heavily criticised for complaining about the bad behaviour of British swimmers - all done after week one, not many medals in those days, but high condom usage - disturbing the athletes who all went in week two.
