    Really great news for the women’s bobsleigh competition in general. Would be a real shame had she ended her career by sitting in a hotel room.

    The only silver lining of the do or die match against Italy is that this is a team Canada has to get through to have any hope at gold anyway, and if they somehow pull it off it will give Homan / Morris a ton of confidence.

    There will be at least 10 skaters in the semis no matter what. Up to two fastest third place skaters will advance (less if there are advancements).

    There used to be a rule that prevents this, but it no longer exists. I’ve seen three skaters from the same country in the same QF a few times in the world cup, but I don’t remember seeing it at the Olympics.

    I’d say Messing missing out on the team event cost us a *chance* at a team event medal: it would have been tough even with him there.

    Well there obviously needs to be some reviews of the moguls setup in Canada, in a way I think Kingsbury losing might be good in that regards because now nobody can pretend things are alright.
