  1. So nice of you, to put the dutch in a place where one of the attractions is a canal so they can feel more at home
  2. Yeah that's a pity, the more i live here the more i appreciate the language so i got disappointed every year when i open the dutch song and realize that it's in english Specially when there are some quite good songs in dutch
  3. Since we're already in the Festival of Music period, and although i know is something that does not usually belong to this festival, I want to take this time to pay some memory respect to a former participant of TISC competition, Sara Carreira. Together with her brother David Carreira, she participated in the 2019 Annual edition with this song "Gosto de Ti". Some months ago, on this past December, she died on a car accident with only 21 years old It gave an additional special meaning to this particular song, that talks about the love between those two brothers and how the physical distance between them does not affect their strong connection
  4. Btw is there a place where we have the entry names from past editions?
  5. Portuguese points are done. The top three was very easy, top 12 as well, only problem was to sort it from 4th to 12th but after hearing it again it got clearer. But overall i think it was a nice edition
  6. Well I spent quite some time looking through maaaaaaaany portuguese songs from the last year and the truth is... I did not particularly liked any of them! I mean i found a nice song from Barbara Tinoco but she already appeared in the last contest and those who participate for some years in TISC know i like to send something different every year, sharing a bit of Portugal every time. So I thought of not participating this year, but then i found this girl, with a song that is nice and that is talking about Lisbon with pretty images of the city, and ended up choosing it as this years Portugal entry Even if you don't like the song i hope the video will make you add Lisbon as one of your first travel destinations after the Covid madness is over! PORTUGAL Nena - Portas do Sol
  7. Some are portuguese, but most are not the genre i would like to share. But i'll find something eventually!
  8. The anual edition is becoming each year more difficult for me since i'm not living in Portugal anymore, but on the other hand it's a good excuse to update myself with the latest music of my country, so Portugal is in! I'm sure i'll find something
  9. I'm working from home since march or april (i dont know, from the first lockdown basically) with no prediction on when to return to the office. I like it, but i must say i miss a bit the social part with the team. Online team events help, but it's not the same... Where do you work btw, in Amsterdam?
  10. Interesting thing, this whole new spike of cases are about two weeks after the black friday (where i guess you know how too many people went to the shops because.... korting!...). Maybe it's coincidence, but still interesting
  11. In Portugal they just decided now to forbid entry from anyone coming from UK, except for Portuguese people, and for those they demand PCR negative test.
  12. Of course, not at all a ridiculous way for Ronaldo to be seen in Qatar so that all those rich sheiks can see it live.... Edit: nevermind, i see that they will play all matches in Europe (right?)
  13. interesting group for Portugal with Serbia and Ireland. Luxembourg is cool due to the amount of Portuguese emigrants there. People in portuguese media were mocking the result saying that Luxembourg was drawn as opponent as a way of allowing Ronaldo to get 6 or 7 more goals to beat that iranian guy for the world record of most international goals haha
  14. The song get's even sadder when you realize that's her brother singing with her about the distance between them. Her family is quite famous in Portugal (her father, Tony Carreira, is a huge singer in the country, and his other two kids - Mikael and David - also became famous singers and actors), so this was quite a shock for Portuguese people.
  15. Sad day to TISC. Today one of the Portuguese participants in the TISC 2019 edition (Sara Carreira) died in a car crash, with only 21 years old. This was her contest entry:
  16. This was a good contest! I'm not sure but maybe one of the few times (or the first time?) that the song i liked the most won the contest. Also happy with the top 20 on the portuguese song, glad a few people liked the song!
  17. Thank you! Also, I have not said this before but I loved the French entry, it reminded me of London 2012 olympics, I love the instrumental part of the song
  18. yeah I meant places like febo and other fries place where they sell... fries. which was super hero for me but then I got used and sometimes we get some as fast food. also I forgot about something really good as well: kapsalon!! So good and SO F*CKING UNHEALTHY!
  19. Oh that’s right I forgot the fries that you guys eat it not as sidedish, but just as fries. With Mayo. I used to be a ketchup-only and now I can’t imagine fries without Mayo. I guess it’s contagious haha
  20. i LOVE erwtensoep! It’s so good and it warms you in the winter, even took my parents to eat some when they came here to visit me, one of my favorite things in the Netherlands (together with kibeling and poffertjes. And stroopwafels. And bitterbollens. And kruidnoten. And ooliebollens. And... I should stop now )
  21. I’m not yet able to post the votes! Also, thanks for any that have any points to Portugal, I see we have a few more now haha
